How do i 'add to queue' or 'play next'?

Userlevel 3

When I'm jus t listening to music I like to scroll through songs I like and queue them up to play.

I can't work out how I do this, what am I missing?

I'm using the Android version (v6.2.30.88)

Yeah this thread has me looking at other services. It's a big feature that's been asked about for years at this point and ‘by design' is just lazy.

Onto the next service.

Repeated “play next” will add things in the middle of a sequence of songs which is a queue, such as your liked songs.  However, be careful, since changing the shuffled status of your playback will destroy the explicit information about your queue because there’s no separation between “queue of explicitly enqueued songs” and “queue of current collection’s playback.”

I can't believe this hasn't been built yet.

I've got another (obvious) user case...

Deezer gives me notifications that songs have been released.

I look at the first, and start playing it.

I then move to the second and don't have the ability to say 'play that next'.

I mean this isn't rocket science!

I really don’t understand I have been using deezer for years but it is becoming so annoying that I am thinking about changing to spotify.

While we party with friends, we need to use a Spotify phone because we like to launch an automatic mix and add music during partying.

Pleeease add it!!!

 Hello @Arsène.Baert @Hairless Ape

Indeed like @dee_dirk mentioned sometime ago this is something that is not yet on our plans to change:

Attention: ‘Play next’ oder ‘add to queue’ do not work with mixes (artist or genre).

It also doesn't work with flow and dynamic lists (e.g. Sunday chill, daily, My top month).

This is not a bug, it is by design. :smirk:

Why?   You can't be driving customers away with this simple request??  Can you??   My god all I want to do is add a song at any given time of the day when listening to your app.......I don't get it......

Userlevel 1

Can you elaborate on the reason why you would not want to add a feature?
It does not change much, it just add a possibility for users.

What is the idea behind it?

It is simple to access and manage your Play Queue on Deezer

1. Go to Deezer from your home screen and log into your premium account.

2. Tap the three dots icon next to the song.

3. Select Add to queue pr Listen Next and it will be immediately added to your current queue.

Maybe this post can give you a clear picture about Deezer queue. And you can add songs to queue, clear queue, and change the order on the queue.

Hi @Hairless Ape can you let me know if this happening while Casting? If that if the case, we have not developed the feature yet.
Thanks

Its been a year. It cant be that hard to add. I've loved using yalls app transitioning from spotify but this is kind of a deal breaker

Hi @Ganon, like I mention before we don’t have plans to add this feature in near future.
So the best is to keep collecting feedback from our users to understand which are the most wanted features to develop like the Flow Genres that we have just realased.

This issue already has around 100 votes and is crucial for Deezer, as it’s rebranding itself as a more social platform. Without ‘Add to queue’ of ‘play next’ you can’t use Deezer at parties at all.

Your other option here is to use a different service that has the feature, ie: Tidal.

No, we are on a Family subscription and that makes it really difficult to switch. If it was easy, I would be long gone.

This is frustrating for me too. I predominantly listen to Mixes but sometimes I want to play a song next and then continue the mix after. I don’t want to stop the current song, I just want another song to be added to the queue. I cannot believe this hasn’t been added yet.

I only use Deezer from the windows desktop app while working. A full review of the desktop app should be done.

I was the same. Tidal has a family subscription too. Though switching was a pain.

Ahhhh this isn’t good. Love the hifi, I’m investing in a Dac and adding it to my hifi system.  But if I cannot “DJ” my Playlist without having to hover over my phone every time a song ends , I won’t be renewing my so called “premium” subscription.
Try listening to your users (Deezer) S.M.H.

I’m disappointed that a basic feature like this is missing from the app. For YEARS. I came for the higher quality music recently, but lacking basic functionality like this is a dealbreaker, and I’m surprised I had to find out about it like this with a years old thread. I hope your plans change soon, as this issue has in the past, and will in the future, drive away your customers and screw up your user retention. Especially now that Tidal has updated their pricing model. I wonder if Tidal has the ability to select a song to be played next in the queue. Maybe I should check.

I can tell you @manioo8, Tidal does have this feature, I moved to Tidal a while ago when it became apparent the Deezer wasn't going to add such a basic feature;  rather they are focused on bigger headline grabbing features.

This is really disappointing. I’m doing my free trial right now and was hoping to switch to Deezer from Spotify. Moved all my playlists over and everything. But this is a dealbreaker for me. I can’t believe with this many users telling you they want this incredibly basic feature that there are “no plans” to do this when it’s available in so many other places.
Unfortunate. It was nice while it lasted. Gonna cancel that free trial before it charges me, and I guess just stick to Spotify for now :(

Same goes for this issue from 2018:

I’m looking forward to the launch of Rokk ...
