Did Deezer cancelled regional prices forever?

Hi!

I live in Venezuela. I’m aware that Deezer raised prices to add HiFi as part of the standard. Not against that, but why did Deezer get rid of the different prices per region?

For example, originally, regular Deezer premium was $9.99, now it’s $10.99. It’s a $1 raise only, right? But in Venezuela (as in other poorer countries), the price was $5.99 (which is the standard all the other music services have in my country and several others). Isn’t it logical that the raise in price is more proportional? If I was paying $9.99 and now I pay $10.99 the change is not that big, but we Venezuelans were paying $5.99 and now Deezer expects us to pay almost double, that is, the same $10.99? Each country has a different situation and money value, that’s why regional prices exist in the first place.

I had to cancel my premium subscription, but I want to know if this is happening just because the raise is recent and then regional prices are going to come back (with a raise, of course), or is the plan to keep them like that for every (or almost every) country? I read on an article of Deezer that they were aiming to be, among other things, the less standardized company. I think having the same price for Americans and Venezuelans is kind of the definition of standard.

Thanks. I like the service and I’d like to know if there’s any hope my partner and I will ever come back.

Hi @JJST Prices have increased worldwide and in some countries, this increase has been higher, as you mentioned (decision which is beyond my role).
I am sorry to say that the answer to your main question is no. Prices won’t go back or decrease in the short term in your country.
We hope that you decide to stick around with us. We appreciate and value you, not only as a customer, but as a music listener and fan.
If you decide to try something else for a while, we understand. In that case, we want to say thank you for supporting us.
We hope that you come back in the future and look forward to seeing you!

@Jaime I see. I understand it is beyond your control. Sorry if I sounded too harsh. I guess for the time being I’ll stay somewhere else hoping one day some decisions may be reversed. I still love how Deezer handles music, but I’m totally opposed as how they’re managing payments now. I appreciate your honest answer and, again, sorry if I sounded too harsh.
