It seems there are others who don’t like the new “feature” of automatically playing a random mix from a song in a search result, but there is no idea to bring back the old behaviour and/or make this a switchable option, I think. This had already been available in the iOS app for a long time, as far as I know, and then was implemented in the other apps as well. But it does not allow to simply sort and play the found tracks in a row anymore which was one of the best Deezer features compared to other providers. Here are some related forum threads, but there may be more:
When you access your listening history in the Deezer web player, it seems to be endless, i.e. you can scroll down slowly, and more songs come up. It would be great if we could download our complete listening history as a CSV file, e.g. to import it in Last.fm or elsewhere. I guess that the complete listening history of any user is also accessible via your API, right?
In courtesy of @Rudi replying to my suggestion in the related gapless playback announcement from seven months ago I’ll make a new thread with the same question. As all suffering desktop users know, gapless playback is neither working in the desktop app nor in the web player yet while most mobile users are already having gapless fun - scandal! So what will be the first album you will listen to when gapless playback is finally working in your app? Mobile users are tolerated to post their first album as well that they have listened to when gapless playback became available on their mobile device. Also using MP3 streaming instead of HiFi is allowed, even if this may take longer to become available for your favorite album than HiFi gapless playback on desktop.I’ll probably start with Richard Wagner’s complete opera cycle “Der Ring des Nibelungen”, all four operas in a row, more than 14 hours of sweet G_A_P_L_E_S_S HiFi lossless FLAC music. I’m undecided yet which performance and/or condu
Just do it. 😉 Might be a Premium feature perhaps if it costs too much server space and/or bandwidth. And please add internal Last.fm scrobbling to uploaded files, too (works with browser extension Web Scrobbler in the Deezer web player which cannot stream FLAC though). Would be great if we could listen to these FLAC files in any device as well, not only in the desktop app which allows HiFi streaming. Google Play Music and Amazon Music allow this as well, but convert them to MP3 afterwards, not sure about Tidal or Apple Music (with ALAC files), Spotify cannot upload any files anyhow, only play local files on your device: https://support.google.com/googleplaymusic/answer/1100462 (convert to MP3 320kbps) https://www.amazon.com/gp/help/customer/display.html?nodeId=201379270 (no longer available, it seems)
There seems to be a new limit of max. 50 tracks for the tab “Most played tracks” on an artist profile. Formerly that tab was called Top Tracks, and it had a limit of 99 tracks, as far as I know. I would prefer to have all available tracks of an artist in one tab, so we can shuffle them easily which otherwise is not possible in Deezer without creating a separate playlist with all releases.
Hi, I just checked the Browse and Hear This sections in the beta desktop app and could not find a related HiFi playlist from Deezer where they recommend some tracks to listen to as examples for high quality sound. But maybe I have just overlooked it. It would make sense for users who actually have access to the HiFi setting, but also for other interested people who are thinking about switching to a HiFi account. You should make sure that all of the included tracks are definitely streamed from FLAC files of course and are not just transcoded from MP3 files, as we cannot check this e.g. in the beta desktop app. If you need suggestions, I'm sure there are lots of users who would contribute to such a playlist, also Spotify has related playlists with recommendations for headphone listening or with audiophile classical music for example (although they do not offer lossless streaming in FLAC format, only 320kbps Ogg Vorbis):https://open.spotify.com/user/spotify/playlist/37i9dQZF1DWZtZ8vUCzche
(Original posting edited, as the related website does not exist anymore) This idea is about using Deezer as the playback source for Last.fm content besides YouTube and Spotify, e.g. playing your favorite Last.fm radio stations like Mix, Library or Recommendations in Deezer with HiFi sound. Deezer has an API, Last.fm also has one, so theoretically it should be possible. For example Mentor.fm already uses Deezer as playback source for its own radio algorithm.
