To reiterate: “Gapless playback” is when certain tracks within an album have no pause between them when one track ends and the next one starts. Some music genres like prog and electronic stuff rely heavily on this feature and mix their albums as one continuous track, and it is instrumental (no pun intended) for proper listening experience. For examples try Pink Floyds Dark Side of the Moon or Colors by Between the Buried and Me. This is not the same thing as crossfade as some people on forums suggest as an alternative. The lack of this basic feature means that the app is unusable for people who lean heavily into genres utilizing this technique, they cannot listen to their favorite albums on your platform as the lack of gapless breaks the experience. And since desktop app might be the go-to way to experience Deezer on a stationary device, your business loses a swathe of customers. Now the problem is that Deezer has Gapless on Android, iOS and in web player, but still does not have one i
This is not going to be one of those salty angry posts about leaving and slamming the door behind - I do enjoyed the experience and hope Deezer will grow with time, just want to share some feedback I have after using Deezer as my main streaming platform for almost a year. The good:Simple and functional interface - you are not trying to reinvent the paradigm of music listening like other companies and keep stuff simple. All UI sections are clearly separated and no page is ever overcrowded with sections and unneeded info. Nor you seem to test some new UX features at the expense of users, kudos for that. And your latest design update is neat - just do make sure that the typography makes sense (some people noted that black letters in purple background are barely legible) and cut down on wasted space. Sound quality - let’s not get too nuts about lossless and hi-rez stuff, most of the hype it gets is snake oil and it will only make a difference with decent listening equipment. But man, Spoti
Maybe the only feature still keeping me from leaving Spotify is the Blend playlist I have with my girlfriend, here’s more info on the feature: https://support.spotify.com/us/article/social-recommendations-in-playlists/ This playlist matches the listening habits of two or more users and creates a playlist that contains liked or suggested tracks for both people, tailored to be close to the tastes of both as much as possible. It’s a great feature actually, it allows gradual and painless introduction into the music tastes of your friends, super neat.Since Deezer has the ability to subscribe to a person I’d imagine it would be possible to match the recommendations of both and create a mix for them. Something simpler like a mix of songs from “favorites” list would also do the trick for the time being.
Hello! I’ve just subscribed to Deezer Premium in Ukraine, but do not see the “HiFi” option available for me, neither in web version, win desktop application or iOS app. The only options available are “Standard” and “Better” on web and desktop and “Basic”, “Standard" and “HQ” in iOS. Devices are Win 10 PC with latest desktop app and latest Firefox, and iPhone 13 with latest iOS and latest app version, if that matters.Screenshots under spoiler just to make sure. I don’t see any specific plans available to my that enable HiFi and it seems like it should be available for the regular Premium sub.One thing that may be affecting it, this account is quite old (maybe since 2015), I was using it on a free tier to blast something at the office, but a year or so ago I wanted to make you my primary streaming platform and got Premium. In a month I cancelled it because I was bummed by the lack of gapless playback (still none on windows app :( ), and yesterday subbed again because Spotify has turned
Hello! I’ve been moving my stuff over from Spotify to Deezer using Tune My Music integration in your player, noticed something that may pretty much spoil this feature for newcomers. And mark my words you will have quite a lot soon with Spotify’s new redesign :D There are three issues I have experienced, both seem to be related to possible mismatches in your album database. Not all favorite albums (as in albums transferred over from Spotify library) that ended up in my library had a “heart” icon. So like, they were in my albums library but they were not “favorited”. If I press the heart sign - it remains there, no changes, if I remove the heart - album disappear from the library. So the issue is that around a third of the albums transferred over were somehow added to my library without being “favorited”, which is kinda strange and confusing :D Now a more impactful issue - some of the albums that got transferred over do not “open” when you click on them, they just load for eternity. It s
