This is now November 2021… and still no Deezer “Mini”!! I’m a retired old man who started his career as a BBC Sound Engineer and music is central to my life. Deezer is fantastic but I don’t understand why there still isn’t a Win desktop mini player!! Lots have people have posted, asked and encouraged you to please deliver what we want… We would really appreciate you making it just a little more comfortable for us please. Thank you I bet it’s because they use Electron, which does not provide enough flexibility and they would need to write a lot to achieve that… Spotify also became nasty after they’ve switched fully to libcef. Yes, it’s easier to support more platforms or just integrate their webplayer, but this brings all other minuses. Essentially the app is one big browser.I wouldn’t count on ever receiving features like miniplayer, or proper equalizer.Apple music uses lots of native code to bring out the GUI and that’s why they’re the only app which has such functionality and does
Hey guys, I was wondering if you have decided something?More than a a year has passed, so you surely must have some sort of internal decision. Is it a “No” to videos ?
I actually would love to have videos in Deezer. I would love to watch and hear the musicvideos of my favorite artists. This would be a very exciting feature, which the competition (except for YouTube Music) - doesn't offer. I think Deezer should further investigate this idea, and seriously consider implementing it. Both Tidal and Apple Music offer Music video clips. The problem I have with it is that they are somehow limited. For example in YouTube, you can find usually all band’s videos, while in Apple Music you see just 5-6, which sucks, then again you need to go to YouTube, watch like 4 commercials or pay another subscription... At this point, it’s more relevant to pay for YouTube Premium where you also get the Music and have both videos and music without adds, than to pay for music streaming service and additionally for youtube just to be able to watch the videos from your favorite bands. Anyway, I hate YouTube and prefer not to use it. If I find alternative, i’d gladly pay fo
Well I think Deezer got their feedback, 60%+ of the people here use YouTube for Videos, which does not bring any points to Deezer. (There are even some people that use YouTube due to lack of alternative, but prefer not to)If they can keep you up more in the App, that’s better for them. If people start sharing videos from Deezer, they will receive more users, more ads for the free users → more money income for Deezer. Users who use other apps, just because they have videos like Apple Music or Tidal, have better chance of switching to Deezer...In all cases, adding videos is a win-win, even though some people are scared of changes(and don’t like them), I think in the long term it will be much better. I also think 4K video streaming is importaint nowadays, Tidal uses very high compression which sucks to be honest. The 4K TV’s and monitors are becoming more and more popular. Currently only YouTube offers proper video quality.Adding Deezer apps in more places like the PlayStation5, most sma
Each to their own I guess. I bought some Sonos gear and got a free 12 month subscription to Deezer, about 7 years ago. At the time Deezer wasn’t well known, it was all about that other Spotty streamer , but I was hooked. The ever expanding library, the sound quality, the ease of use, all of these things are what I like. If Deezer offered video, I would hope that it would simply be a different type of subscription. For me, I would choose audio only. Where I live and travel, Deezer plays in my home or my car, we travel very long distances and our phone networks are patchy to say the least, buffering and saved playlists takes care of the WiFi black spots. I have an Amazon/ Prime subscription. Being a Gen X kid from the 70s, Amazon has a massive library of music videos, concerts, classic albums, docos, etc that I am exploring. Just watched Deep Purple Live in Verona in 4K through my home cinema. What an amazing experience. I can’t understand why people think that the video will
No thanks. Best to do what you do so well! Besides, requires greater bandwidth, more data and probably more dollars for a subscription. I love Deezer as it is. Please dont tinker. That shouldn’t be the case as long as they offer 4K videos only as Hifi perk. HD Full should be then Premium perk and free users can enjoy only SD video. Video traffic can add the cost of streaming, but I guess they can sort it out without going at your wallet too much. Apple Music offers video streaming at less than 5 euros, Tidal also at 5. I guess it’s not that big issue.
Adding Videos would be probably the best idea and change that would happen in Deezer.Currently 50% of my day goes in YouTube, so I can watch… well… music videos. The same goes for my friends.Especially when you have home gatherings, everybody starts streming some music… videos. The user should have the ability to choose only videos, or only music. The mixes should be also separate. For example, I might watch a lot Marilyn Manson videos, but would not watch some dumb dubstep clips which I might listen to. (That’s just example)“Video Flow” would be also cool. Showing the lyrics on top of the video would be even better. One cool thing which misses everywhere is to be able to switch dynamically between video/ song. E.g. you find a cool song, but haven’t seen the video, you become interested, however the video is available in Deezer’s library, there should be a button to quickly switch to the video. Thank you and I hope videos finally arrive. I’m tired of youtube.
