My Windows 10 x64 Deezer app constantly crashes if being used for 1 hour or more of listening to the music. Is it something known? How to fix that? Yet Win10 version does not support smooth tracks changing(non-stop). I would like this iOS feature be implemented for Win10 as well.

Stopped on my end. Thanks dev team!

Hi there again @Alexander Chernyaev

What version of our app have you got? Does it crash when playing the same track or playlist? Please try the following:

  • Uninstall the app
  • Search for %appdata and delete any Deezer folder you find
  • Restart your PC
  • Download the app from the store again and reinstall it

And the feature you're talking about is gapless. We've been developing it for a few months now, hoping to bring it to the desktop app soon! :relaxed:

It’s 4.32.10 version. I did install it from Windows Store. Ok, I will try this advice a bit later today. Thanks for gapless feature report as I’m looking forward to get it. :grinning:

Hi there, @Rudi . I have just reinstalled the app like you suggested. I will check it today. As to me this is some code error that is accumulating. Hope reinstalling helps.

Latest desktop version is 4.32.20, but that probably has not been rolled out to all users yet. Can you check the Windows task manager and watch if it is showing too much RAM usage over time? How much RAM does your computer have, and do you use Windows 10 as OS or maybe Linux with Wine or something similar?

I noticed a similar behaviour with the Deezer web player, but not with the desktop app yet which usually is less demanding than the web player.

I use WIndows 10 Home x64 as a host os. My PC has got 16Gb of RAM. More than 1 hour usage of the app shows its memory consumption at 890 Mb total(With all its subprocesses). And I don’t use Web player. It’s good you noticed this version change. I didn’t spot it has changed after the reinstall.

Hi @Rudi , unfortunately it still crashes. It would be nice if you had an automatic crash reporting that  gathers dumps. Unfortunately there is no suitable dump in AppData\Local\CrashDumps.

Hey @Alexander Chernyaev

We've had a new release, is this issue still happening? Please try installing and confirming if you have 4.32.20.

It’s the version I’ve got. Today it didn’t crash. Let me check tomorrow as it can take a half of the day of continuously listeneing to the music.

Please let me know in which track it stops (it could be a problem with the track when it crashes) @Alexander Chernyaev

It still crashes. The track it crashed at is: Apolune - Jesper Ryom, the playlist is the one that is available to everyone: Dream House.

The track is playing fine on my side. Great playlist by the way @Alexander Chernyaev you have good taste!

Try changing the audio quality for the app, to see if the track plays without crashing. Let me know!

And so it is for me when started after the crash. It’s some programmer error that is accumulating. To repro this - is next to impossible unless you can leave your started app with a debugger attached for a half of a day.

Hey. I can setup an automatic crash dump collection for it with the adplus tool. Shall we try it tomorrow?

@Rudi  Please check your inbox.

I have repeatedly experienced the same issue, along with periodic track freezing with different versions of deezer, on different systems with different hardware configurations, 16+ gb of ram, freshly installed windows etc, the only common factor is I’m using windows 10 and deezer installed via microsoft store.

It would be nice if this discussion continued here publicly as many others experience this, this is not the first topic created on the matter.

I really do like deezer but I am at a wits end and about to give up and use another service because my music listening experience is too often interrupted for not good reason, and it doesn’t appear any real improvements have been made to the windows 10 app regarding stability and fluid playback

Hey @taykom @Alexander Chernyaev

Our devs have been fully aware of this, thank you so much for your help and obviously for your patience. We're sorry you've been having this experience.

We're currently focusing on bringing these bugs down, but at the same time, on updating our app separately, so that the experience improves overall. So please hang in there and stay tuned with me for updates. I'll be keeping you posted, we're almost there :thumbsup_tone2:

Also experiencing this. I’m guessing it has to do with the increase in favorites limit...

Thankyou for recognising this is still an ongoing problem, I hope I can look forward to an update on this issue in the near future.

Your feedback is crucial for us to improve @taykom @joaocmfs

It could be @joaocmfs but lets the devs get this sorted. I'm sure our next major update will solve many problems :thumbsup_tone2:

Stopped on my end. Thanks dev team!

I am also experiencing this problem. I started using Deezer a few days ago and the app crashed several times during that time. I like the sound quality, but this spoils the joy of listening a bit. ThinkPad E14 / Win10 / i7 / 16GB / SBX G6.
