Only 4 tracks before music stops on Google Home

Anyone else having issues with GH and Deezer? I have a hi-fi subscription and up until a couple of days ago everything was good, now when I ask Google to play my flow I get a maximum of 4 tracks and then silence. If I ask it play something else at this point the reply is "playing music from Deezer" but nothing happens. A reboot of the Chromecast Audio it plays to sometimes works for another 4 songs and then back to square one! I can cast from my Pixel phone with no issues so don't think it's a Chromecast issue. Anybody got any ideas?

Hi again 🙂 What's the device you are casting from? Any chance you can test another device too? For example phone and desktop app? Just to see if it's a certain device causing this? The more details I have for the team the sooner they'll find out what's going on 🙂 Also , it's possible that I've asked you the same question on another topic, but it's hard to keep track if you post on different ones and create topics 🙂 But have you checked if lowering the sound quality changes anything?

@Anja . I'm using Google Home to cast to a Chromecast Audio. Phone app appears to have a similar problem, but will play for a while longer before stopping. Deezer plays with no problems on my Yamaha system. It appears that the Chromecast Audio has problems fetching the next track.afetr running for a short while.
I have the same problem when asking Google home on my LG WK7 to play music on my LG Soundbar. Both are hooked up to the WiFi no problem, but all I get is 4 songs before it stops and you have to ask it to play again.

Thanks a lot for the details, guys. That sounds indeed like an issue related to Chromecast with Deezer. Our team is already working on a better solution for Chromecast, but I will pass your feedback on individually. I hope this will be fixed very soon. I'll keep you posted about any news. @Anja Thanks for the reply. Hope this can be sorted soon, because when it does work it's awesome. In the meantime I'll have to save my voice and use Musiccast manually.

@Anja Is there any news on this? It's got to point that Deezer Hi-fi is virtually unusable on Chromecast Audio. I've noticed one or two other posts cropping up with the same issues. This really does need prioritizing.

I have similar problem. When I'm sending music to my speaker (JBL Playlist) via Chromecast everything works properly during few songs. Later I have feeling that sound is choking (like problem with streaming). Then sound is stop. Then I must reset everything and start again.

I changed wi-fi router. Speaker. And network connection.

I also tried this with Spotify and the other streaming services in the same configuration. Everything works properly.

So conclusion is that problem is with Deezer.

Hi guys, as Anja confirmed above, we are passing your feedback on to our devs. But in the meantime, please make sure you Chromecast and Deezer are updated and the device is connected to the same wifi 😉

@Rafael. Yes, yes and yes. There are so many complaints on this forum about this issue, why is nothing being done about it?

Google Home feature is actually built by Google Home and we also depend on them. Our devs are definitely working on an improvement, but it doesn't depend only on us and things sometimes take longer than we expect. Sorry about that!

@Rafael. I'm pretty sure the issue is not with Google Home but with the Chromecast Audio. Google Home instructs the Chromecast Audio to stream from your source of choice, in the same way you would cast from your phone or tablet. The problems remain the same wherever you cast Deezer from. Other streaming services work perfectly, so, by deduction it must be a Deezer problem with Chromecast Audio.

Well it's been 3 weeks since I raised this issue, and many others had done so before me. Deezer on Chromecast is unusable and, seemingly, absolutely nothing has been done about it. I did like the idea of voice control of my music, this did work well to start with however Deezer broke something and won't fix it. I'm not paying £20/month for an unusable service, so today I've cancelled and gone back to Tidal. A real shame as I prefer Deezer on the whole, however not much good if you can't use it!
Same problem. Deezer plays a few songs and is not able to fetch the next one.
If this problem is not quickly solved, i switch back to Spotify

@Rafael. Your devs need to work faster because your customers are walking. This issue and the glacial response doesn't show Deezer in a good light.

Devellopment is to slow. Spotify has now a new user. No problem at all with Spotify. Casting works perfect with my Beosound . No stop after a few songs.
Pitty, I prefered the GUI from Deezer.

The same problem. JBL playlist, family plan on Deezer. Google play music, Youtube music - no problem. Wating for one month for updates and then will choose correctly working service.

Hi @MrSkrip you have the same problem with Chromecast? This thread was created for Google Home initially.

We are working on Chromecast these weeks also together with Google, in that we can just ask you for some patience. You can also try, if you can, to switch to 5ghz your wifi network. This has helped many users.

I just get the issue, even when not casting to my LG SK9Y. Tested today, asked google to play "Our House" - Song started well into the middle of the 1st verse and stopped middle of the 2nd verse. I aske google to resume but it says nothing is playing. No other device dropping off network and no issues streaming to other devices (Alexa and Amazon music work fine)!
Will try blocking WK7 and LG9Y from 2.4ghz see if that helps.

have excactly the same issue with Deezer Hifi ... Playing on any Harman/Kardon Citation product (have many) or on a JBL Link 20.

So as bottom line: Deezer doesn't work on Google Home ... unfortune ... as it's sold explicitly as THE outstanding feature of Deezer (the only Hifi quality streaming on Google Home).

The issue was now reported 4 months ago. Pretty sure your devs found out something in the meantime ... or at least I hope so.

Happy to get an update ...
