My Bose ae2w Bluetooth headphones have buttons for "pause", "next", "previous" but they are not recognized by the Deezer Mac App Version 0.13.4 (0.13.4.305).

Hi there, please reinstall the app 😉

I just deleted the app and downloaded and installed a fresh version from the deezer website. Still the buttons for Pause/Play, Next Song, Prev Song are not working.

Hi @Emanuel_TheDude which version do you have installed now. The one above is not the latest one. Generally if the media keys are working and your computer allows to use the buttons of your headphones it should work from your headphones too 😉

Hey I actually have the same problem and its driving me crazy

I have the 4.18.11 version on my Mac and it works like its supposed to when I am wearing earphones with a wire—one click is pause, two is next, etc. My beatsX (wireless bluetooth earphones) also have buttons that are supposed to do those things. They work fine with iTunes but on Deezer it doesn't do anything.

Help.

Hi there @Uncoordinated_Potato

Thanks for reaching out to us. I've tried on our side with a pair of Beats Solo and only play/pause and volume buttons work. I'll be passing your feedback to our teams here at Deezer.

In the meantime, add Deezer to your Mac's accessibility settings to see if it makes a difference

Thanks for passing it on Rudi. I have tried putting it in the accessibility settings but it doesn't not work. :|

Thanks for letting me know @Uncoordinated_Potato, at least we can rule out that workaround for now :thumbsup_tone2:

Same here with Beats Solo3 and Mac Desktop App 4.18.70.74

Hi @cgnbluesky we are sorry to hear you are experiencing the same problem. Could you please add Deezer to your Mac's accessibility settings to see if it makes a difference?

In case it does not please specify which exact buttons= features of your headphones do not work for the Deezer Desktop App. Thank you

not working for me as well on OSX Catalina with Bose QC35 and latest Deezer app

Same Here OSX Catalina, Bose 700 headphones and Deezer version 4.21.0 (4.21.0.108)

Hey @Hesham @Guy Moyal

Thanks a lot for your support and for letting us know. I'll be passing these details to our devs so they can look into it.

Have a good day and chat soon :v_tone2:

Hi,

I think I have the same kind of issue.

I have just reinstalled the desktop app on my macbook pro running the latest version of catalina.
Both media keys on the keyboard and on the headphone does not fire any event in deezer.

If I have a tab with youtube opened it will interact with it, if not it will trigger itunes which I never use. Even having deezer app focused, it does not send the media event to it.

Thanks,
Cédric.

Thanks a lot, it works !
System prefs aren’t very clear for me, if I’m asked if want to allow an app to control my system, of course I will say no way ! But here it doesn’t allow the system to control the app…

By the way, thanks a lot, so I will check with the media keys on my headphones.

Thanks for getting back to us, Cédric @Cubbe and keep us posted :thumbsup_tone2:

I’m facing the same issue on two laptops: a 2018 MacBook Pro and a 2020 MacBook Air. I’ve tried the Accessibility fix on both machines. I tried uninstalling and re-installing Deezer on both as well.

When Deezer is playing music, the controls on my bluetooth headset are routed to iTunes instead. Pressing play/pause and skipping tracks opens iTunes and does the corresponding action in iTunes.

Spotify, dare I say, works fine. When I open Spotify and play music, all controls (play/pause, skip) are routed to and correctly control Spotify.

I’m running Catalina 10.15.7 and Deezer 4.28.0.147.

Yes @Danosuarus

That's normal, we're still looking to develop this, thank you for reaching out. The good news is that our developers are up for it, it's one of our big focuses for 2021 to improve our desktop app.

I use it myself, with a Catalina too. The accessibility settings are for the keyboard media keys. My Bluetooth headphones are currently opening Apple Music because of the lack of this integration. But rest assured and stay tuned, we'll bring this to the app in the near future :thumbsup_tone2:

Thanks Rudy, looking forward to it. It’s really frustrating without it coming from Spotify.

@Rudi @Flo.Deezer I’m going to jump back into this conversation.

Using Deezer has become incredibly annoying! My headphones automatically pause music when they’re taken off and play again when you put them back on.

Every time I take off my headpones, Deezer keeps playing and when I put them back on Apple Music starts playing. So I can’t put my headphones off and on without getting a confused cacophony in my desperate ears.

Hi there @Danosuarus

So sorry about that. I use Bluetooth headphones myself, on a MacBook Pro, and there's always Apple Music opening when I put them on.

Fortunately, this has been reported and I nudged the devs about this recently too. One of our big focuses for 2021 is to improve the desktop app, considerably. So please hang in there, with me, until we cross the line on this subject.

In the meantime, because this is a Mac issue, you can search online for ways of stopping Apple Music from opening up with the headphones :relaxed:

Thanks @Rudi I’ll bug you again in 2021 to see where this is on your roadmap.

Please do @Danosuarus I hope to speak to you before you need to bug me!

@Rudi it’s 2021, any update on this?

YES! @emfeld

We're developing major updates for our desktop app in the coming months and I've highlighted this with our devs - as the web player works fine with it.

We're expecting the updates to actually fix this, but will only be sure when testing it. Stay tuned for more updates and in the meantime, have a great week!
