LMS isn't something we officially support @taravasya and for that reason, I cannot test if the streaming is done in HiFi.

What I know is that our devs switched on HiFi streaming for the connection LMS may seek with Deezer, through our API. This hasn't nothing to do with updates or different versions. It's a public integration.

For more info, check our developers page here :nerd:

Hey @pxe1987 thank you for the feedback. It seems that Logitech also dropped support for LMS so we're going to look at more and better integrations between now and the course of 2021 :relaxed:

Thank you. I'll keep a look out, better integrations would really make a difference.

Hey @jelenart @taravasya @ezra0r

Deezer has enabled HiFi streaming to LMS. Could you please test it on your side?

Hello!

I am ready to test it :) Subscribed to hifi and installed LMS on my NAS Synology DS214play with Deezer app. at the moment it says 320 Kbit MP3. Any chances to get FLAC ? )

Many of us are now enjoying FLAC on LMS, but you have to make sure you install a recent version of LMS, 8.1 or higher, but your NAS may or may not be compatible with it. You may have to check on this forum https://forums.slimdevices.com/

Wow @chavezdaniel

That's pretty cool - that you're sharing here in the community, thank you :grinning:

Please don't be a stranger and if there's anything else you think it can be helpful to the rest of the community of Deezer users, shout out!

So, I'll be back to HIFI subscription again. Thank you!

New Hifi subscriber, and I am running LMS 8.1.2 in Docker on OpenMediaVault streaming to Picoreplayer in my main stereo setup.  The best I can stream is 320kbps through the Deezer plugin. As luck would have it, all of my devices that have poor speakers are FLAC capable (MacBook, iPhone). :yum:  Unfortunately my dedicated Picoreplayer stereo setup does not.  I hope its a setting or just an old app in mysqueezebox.com.  As of now, I am unable to get it to play lossless.

It’s concerning reading a few posts up, that certain NAS’ may have trouble.  I may run it on Ubuntu Server instead to see if it’s OMV that is the problem.

To reply to myself, I discovered an answer via a user at the slimdevices forum, the issue is when engaging Flow on the LogitechMediaServer.  It streams all of the music at 320kbps, not FLAC.  If you play any album or song directly it will play at the Hifi streaming level.  I was streaming Flow at the time of subscribing, so I had no other reference of what my equipment was capable of, but this appears to be the case with Flow, it plays the music at 320kbps on LMS.

Most times Flow will be playing as a background, driving etc, so not something that breaks my experience. If it resolves, all the better!

Thanks a lot for the feedback @Hifi72 that's super interesting, especially if it's only on Flow. I'll let the devs know and I've highlighted your reply as well :relaxed:

Thanks Rudi, that’s awesome.  Hopefully, it will help to narrow down the issue.

No matter what I try, I can’t get my Squeezebox Touch running from LMS 8.1.1 (On Synology DS213+) to play Deezer hifi. It seems to work for a lot of people, please name the obvious I must be missing. Do I have to enable hifi somewhere (I am subscribed), do I need a different Deezer app for LMS besides the official one by Logitech (1.0) or what is it that I am missing? I have tried all the “tricks” playing albums and not flow, but still it insists on 320kbps mps :-(

Hey, @chavezdaniel could you see if there's anything @Tournesol can try?

I don’t know much about those old Squeezeboxes, but I’ve heard that they don’t support some of the latest features due to their quite old Firmwares. You should look into this community firmware, which may give you some new functions, and Deezer FLAC may or may not be included there. I guess that would be a start.

@chavezdaniel Okay, thanks, I guess Deezer Flac is different from regular Flac, as I play Flac just fine through LMS normally. It is just that so many people get it to work with their Squeezebox Touch, I just don’t understand how, and nobody mentions anything about updating to the community firmware, and the changelog of the community firmware mentions nothing about Deezer hifi.
