Is there a time frame for Deezer HIFI Heos support?

I completely get where you're coming from. I've been here with our community users and this is a subject I take a lot of ownership of.

I've been discussing the integration with our developers who have been in touch with HEOS to get this off the ground. I can assure you, we're now working to get this sorted.

It's a two-way project, but HEOS is getting all the support from us on the integration. I hope to have more exciting news at the beginning of 2021, so please stay tuned :v_tone2:

Reporting to HEOS also sounds easy, but they do not have a forum like this one and my experience with feedback on issues reported via the Denon/Heos/Marantz Support websites is not the best, also not if you write reviews to their iOS apps. Answers are mostly very general, if any. Months after months nothing happens and that is really annoying, so how can we join forces to increase the pressure on them to get this out soon?

I propose to rename this thread to: Deezer HiFi for Denon HEOS and Denon / Marantz HEOS built-in devices

I have decided to start my 3 months free Amazon Music HD trial period today as the offer expires in 2 days. So far Amazon Music HD works fine with HEOS built-in and I really hear the difference! Following the Apple announcement of 3D Audio and HiRes audio quality starting in June without additional cost for subscribers, Amazon has directly reduced prices, so after the 3 months subscription for Amazon prime members would just be 7,99€/months. Together with the impossibility to get Deezer Hifi working on HEOS, I can get more for less which finally may bring my Deezer subscription to an end. You always highlighted it’s an HEOS App and not a Deezer issue but if you can‘t get it solved together very soon ….

Thanks for sharing that with us here. It could be that the information their support team has is out-of-date or that their plans have changed and it's pushed back.

I sincerely hope that their support is misinformed and that we will get Deezer HiFi through HEOS soon... :wink: this is actually their second answer because I got pissed of by their first “automatic” answer with links to some rather irrelevant things that I did not ask so I reopened the case and then got this.

Yes - until hell freezes over… Forget it, Deezer Hifi will never come to HeOS. I currently use NAD C658 with BluOS together with my Denon X4400H AVR to have Deezer HIFI in my living room. My next AVR will be a Yamaha (RX-A6A is on my mind). I’m done with Denon!

Hey @Rudi,  it would be really appreciated if you can update us if/when your teams get a response from the HEOS engineering team, mainly so we can make decisions regarding ditching HEOS kit, or holding on for a little bit as the feature is coming…

This year we have been working on our Public API and SDKs, so that our current and future integrations get access to this package with famous Deezer features and HiFi, straight out-of-the-box. This will help not only HEOS but all of our partners and potential partners. It's hard work so it takes a while before it's done but I'll keep the community updated with the super big projects :relaxed:

Check our homepage too, we're opening tests for our remote control feature!

We're also waiting for the date, so fingers crossed and a bit more patience :relaxed: I hope that it comes before they estimated!

    I am been supporting Deezer HiFi for more than 2 years now, waiting for my Denon AVR to be supported directly from your platform.

    I do understand that this implementation may require an agreement between the different parties (Denon/Marantz and Deezer) as well as SW implementations in both sides, but I cannot understand that two serious strong players in this market would take so much time to do that. Being in the software industry, I would expect that the implementation should take around 3-6 months, but not more than that.

    If I look back in this thread, around 2 years ago (around May 2019), the first questions about Denon support started. Since then, I have only seen the plea to hold a little longer, but without any concrete date or commitment from Deezer side or any explanation of what is really missing.

    Therefore, since I have not seen any effective results so far, I am now downgrading my subscription to the Premium. I hope this sends a clear message to the Product Owners/Solution Owners in Deezer. I would also recommend to other customers to do the same and report it here, to show that this is an important feature for us (your customers) and that we are dissatisfied with the way that this is being treated.

    I will keep watching this thread and hopefully, by the time Deezer and Denon come to an agreement, I still have my Deezer account and/or my Denon AVR.

Thanks for your honest feedback and patience. I completely understand your point.

Rest assured, Deezer is committed to add HiFi support to all our partners, and we have manifested this commitment to HEOS as well. They're also happy to do it, but the development work needs to be done on their side, according to their own schedule. So whenever they can give time and resources to build this, they will, they're happy to do so. All we can genuinely ask you is for more patience.

As a side note, as I mentioned above, Deezer is working on updating the Public API and our SDKs, so that for HEOS and other partners, existing and potential, it'll be easier to get the Deezer features out-of-the-box. Our remote feature is also being built, so one way or another, sooner or later, we should have more systems playing Deezer HiFi :thumbsup_tone2:

Dear All! I am new here, and would like to share with all Marantz and Denon users my experience of listening Deezer HiFi subscription in 16/44.1 (redbook) quality at home. I will not blame anybody here, I have read all the history, and can confirm only, that till now (28.04.2021) HEOS app, does not stream Deezer HiFi in lossless format to my Marantz PM7000n, at least it shows me “mp3 320 k.bit” in the app, when playing Deezer through the app, having HiFi subscription.

So, how to solve this issue and get to down sampled music streamed wirelessly to you home stereo setup? Here we currently have two options, and I have used them both with pleasure:

  1. For those who have relatively new models of Denon and Marantz items and IPhone or IPad, which support the Airplay 2 protocol via home wi-fi network - simply use this! Exactly 2nd version of Airplay protocol sends the audio via wi-fi to your devices without down sampling (it only converts flac to alac format of the data stream), so your device DAC will get if properly. I got only one problem here: IPhone cannot find my Marantz PM7000n via wi-fi connection due to poor home modem/router (many user face such issue around the world) but it works ideally if you connect your device to LAN with cable! Please check this out!
  2. Send solution is for those who are happy owners of Xbox One, One S, One X etc. whith optical (tosllink) digital audio out. You can install on your Xbox a relatively cheap app “Airserver” which support Airplay 2 protocol. You need to have Iphone or Ipad, so you can stream you music to Xbox (it receives it, and up sample it to 16/48 only). Than you need to select audio output option of Xbox “stereo pcm” and send it via toslink to external DAC or to you device if it has optical in.

Both option were perfectly fine to me. Moreover, I tried to play Deezer tracks in Heos app. and realized that the app itself is uncomfortable to use, so I do not like it at all, and therefore I do not wait for HiFi support there at all.

Cheers to all, and happy listening! Take cheap used Xbox, and be happy with a very useful media device, for many purposes, like video, audio, network, gaming, even CD playing ;-)

Thanks for investigating this; streaming to my Denon AVR-3600X via AirPlay 2 in hifi quality could be a workaround. Allthough I prefer the cabled connection right at the Denon. 
Since I settled for the Deezer Premium account, because a Hifi-account was useless, I could not hear any difference in AirPlay, obviously.

Another thing is,that when playing music from Deezer with the HEOS app, the playing history is unknown in the Deezer app, so are favorites and playlists. It would be very nice if Deezer would recognize this so HEOS and Deezer apps would not be ‘separate worlds’.

So that would, for now, be another advantage of using the Deezer app on iPad/iPhone and stream to Denon via AirPlay…

Just forget it and switch to a serious provider. Deezer + Denon/Marantz obviously don’t mix. It’s something like oil and water. :D

I’ve been naively hopeful for quite a while that HiFi would be supported on Deezer and it took me a really, really long time to realize that this just won’t be happening. Ever! Give yourself a break and switch to something that actually works.

I did not upgrade and use Amazon Prime Music for HD, at least until that day comes.

There is an Heos App update available but nothing mentioned about Deezer Hifi, so I guess it’s still not working.

Amazon music is not supported in my country otherwise I would give it a try,,

I like the new look of HEOS..
