Deezer Desktop app forward/back navigation buttons do not work

Forward and back navigation buttons on the desktop app do not work at all, click on them and nothing happens, very annoying when trying to explore and browse playlists.

Known issue, fixed in version 4.18.50, see also this thread:

Funny this thread is one year old, and I’m facing the exact same issue with the Forward and Back navigation buttons in the Mac OS app, which sporadically do not work.

 

Also, clicking on band names, albums etc to go back to the overview is hit or miss (if it works or not)…

 

Deezer app version: 4.34.10

MAC OSX: 11.3.1

Hey @Cupart 

That's because this error was sorted and then came back after a while.

We're rolling out 5.0 in which this doesn't seem to happen. Please wait for your app to prompt you for the update and let us know how it works :relaxed:

I, for one, know that it can be very difficult to replicate these kind of issues as there are multiple of factors that can play in - now for instance (same app version and OSX) it seems to be working quite well…

 

I’ll be more than happy to report back when (and if) something changes (or the lack thereof)… :thumbsup:

The hit or miss must have something to do with the part of the app you're in (ie Albums) @Cupart 

Food for thought then! Could you please confirm you're on 5.0?

Still on Version 4.34.10 (4.34.10.35) (OSX) @Rudi and you’re correct it’s when I’m in i.e. Albums that sometimes it works others not so much :-)

QQ: Will the update happen automatically to 5.0? I do not see any optioms to update and I just started my Deezer app on my mac (no more work related meetings today so full Rock’n’roll for full blast)…

 

Thanks for taking you time btw… The issue is not a deal breaker and I honestly prefer Deezer to the other major Swedish streaming service available out there :-)

In all seriousness, yes, 5.0 is released like any other app, gradually. And yes, you'll get it via the automatic update.

But you don't have to wait, as you told me:

What a world of difference that made… Thank you so much @Rudi for sharing the link with OSX Deezer desk top app v5.0.0 (5.0.0.38)

I have done some quick navigation around the app, and it’s doing exactly what it is supposed to do.

If it makes any difference, and ofc could be of some help, I’d be more than happy to report any issues that I may encounter going forward.

Thank you for your patience and support over the period we were working on this major update @Cupart I know the efforts the team put into it, we really wanted to get a lot of stuff sorted and improved. It'll get better from 5 onwards - we're looking to fix more bugs and improve performance :relaxed:

So, still having issues :-(

I made a recording and not sure if it gives any correct/better indiction as again, I know it can be very difficult to create the exact same scenario… No action when clicking the band name etc...

Still on OSX 11.3.1 (to update this evening to 11.4)

Hi @Rudi 

Update on the navigation buttons in Version 5.10.0 (5.10.0.41).

It seems like these are not working under the following scenario:

  1. Looking at an Artist (i.e. Radiohead)
  2. Searching for “Velvet Underground Femme”
  3. One is taken to the results
  4. Back button to the Radiohead page as above for point (1) doesn’t work as expected

Now on Version 5.20 and the issue reported above is now fully working :thumbsup: So far all looks like it’s doing what it’s supposed to do, so double thumbs up...
