Hello,
I had to log into Deezer this morning in the Desktop app, which was unusual. Turns out I have been updated to ver 4.13.4. All my downloads are gone (240+ albums). The content still appears to be on my hard drive (70+ GB). Please advise how I can re-access my downloaded music.
Thanks
Got the new update (and logged in) and immediately heard that the sound quality was reduced. Not sure why the HiFi option was not on by default since it was on previously. All is back to normal after a switch to HiFi. Just making sure others check after the update.

Hi there @bwrusset

Please ensure you're using the right credentials to login. Your downloaded content should be available once the right account is used.

Hey @TooMuchNoise

Thanks for sharing. If your audio quality doesn't change, please try reinstalling the app.
Thanks for the suggestion. Logged out and then back in - same issue.

On further investigation with a test download, the updated version has created a new folder "\LocalCache\Roaming\deezer-desktop" where it is putting post-update downloads. The pre-update content is in "\LocalCache\Roaming\Deezer".

I am tempted to copy "\Deezer" content to "\desktop-deezer" but I suspect encryption/database/indexing issues would likely prevent that from working. Is it possible to revert back to the previous version?

It isn't possible to revert to a previous version @bwrusset. But you could try moving the content if you're willing to try. And share with us if it works 👍🏼
Deezer (W10) becomes unresponsive and crashes after I play a few tracks and use the 'progress bar' to skip through some parts of the tracks.

I use the latest version, although this has been happening for at least 6 months now.

So let me just kind of describe how to reproduce the bug (although the first sentence should be enough).

I open, let's say, my favourited tracks or an album, or any playlist. I click play on one track, skip through some parts of the track using the progress bar. I do that a few times with other tracks, and the app becomes unresponsive and crashes.

Saying that, I tried reproducing the bug now and failed. Just 30 minutes earlier it crashed for the same reasons. Weird. When it crashed, it was the first time I opened the app since I turned on my laptop - maybe this has something to do with it?

Which audio quality do you use, perhaps HiFi mode? Did you try it with a lower setting when skipping through a track?
AirPods gestures not working with deezer macos app and what is going on with favorite tracks list after i remove 1 song from favorites? hahaha, i can’t upload video😂 why you allowing upload video from my iphone and if you are not support iphone video format. Looks like we all need switch to Apple music.
Always 320 kb/s, now tried both settings (that and 128 kb/s) and still weirdly unable to reproduce the bug. It used to crash without a doubt every single time I've done what I wrote in the previous post.

Regardless, my laptop is not that old or slow. It is possible that the HQ setting causes the crash, but that's still a bug.

Will let you know if it happens again.

@bwrusset I too found I had to re-login and that all my downloads had disappeared after updating to 4.13.4. I tried copying everything in "Deezer" to "desktop-deezer" like you suggested and it worked. All my downloads are now back. I haven't noticed any encryption/database/indexing issues.

Seems like the developers renamed Deezer's folder without implementing an upgrade process to copy over the old settings and downloads.

Same problem with my test download of FLAC files for one album which disappeared in the new desktop version as well. I did not try to simply copy them into a new folder, but nice to know that it should work. Still fixing this bug would be better of course.
Thank you very much @sipho !! I was able recover my downloads doing the file copy. It was not straightforward for me though. The first attempt at a mass drag and drop copy failed with many "cannot access file" errors. I then went through folder by folder to copy the files. Did not work. I went through again making sure existing files were overwritten by old. Finally worked after a couple of reboots and re-logins.

My internet service is very slow - I cannot stream reliably. That is why I download. Your confirmation that the file copy worked saved me over 80 hours of downloading to rebuild my music library. So again - many thanks.

Hi there @EmmeBin

Have you tried uninstalling the app, searching for %appdata and deleting the corresponding Deezer folder? Then you can try reinstalling the app to see if it helps 👍🏼

Hey @Jul.Kovalenko have you tried reinstalling the app? If it doesn't help, please do give me more info about the device and OS you have.

@sipho @bluezzbastardzz this could've been an oversight, we'll ask our devs about it.
