Deezer and Chromecast Audio problems

I've read many topics about the problems with Chromecast Audio and I'm suprised that the Deezer people doesn't do anything about it. Of course, we all had wanted that streaming to Chromecast Audio could be lossless but for the moment I could have lived with the current bitrate.
But I can't live with the unstable connection to Chromecast Audio. Sometimes it works fine but most of the time when choosing a new track, the message "Reading data... almost finished bla bla bla" appears and it is never finished. If I turn off the Chromecast Audio, the track works fine.
I'm in a trial period and if the Chromecast Audio connection isn't improved I have no need for Deezer.
It's very sad, because I really like Deezer and was about to skip Spotify.
Now, I have to get back to Spotify. Their Chromecast connection works fine.
So, my question is: Why don't you Deezer folks do anything about it?

Could you tell us more about the issues affecting your experience. 

Maybe even record some videos exposing this issues.

With that, please let us know details of the devices, brand, model, OS and confirm if the Chrome cast is built in or external dongle. What is the version of the firmware?

I’m giving up - Chromecast support on Deezer is rubbish.

I’ve just trialed 3 other platforms as I’ve got tired of this issue and I’ve had no casting issues with any one them. Simple things like volume control whilst the app is lock or I’m in a different app, add play next etc all work perfectly on these other services. It a shame as I really liked Deezer but not being able to get the simple stuff write is driving me away.

I will also say goodbye soon. I can no longer cast to my high end hifi Naim systems so why would I keep Deezer? Chromecast has had many issues for a very long time. Moreover, lack of communication and commitment. In the French community we got all kind of communications until they stopped communicating about this problem. It's amazing. 

I will cancel my premium membership in a week.

Today still same issues with chromecast make it not acceptable....goodbye again deezer.

I have a piece of advice, screw it Deezer. Isn't it enough that he hasn't been able to solve this problem for 3 years? My solution is to broadcast the voice on Google home, the only disadvantage is that it transfers all your telephone voices, but it does it instantly. This is the proof that the application is wrong.It's obvious they can't. They keep reporting that we have developed the Chromecast, nothing has changed.

Two years later the casting issue still hasn't been resolved. Constant dropouts and the only resolution from tech support is to clear cache or reinstall app which doesn't fix anything. Is it actually going to get fixed? Or more empty promises?

I recently switched to Deezer from Youtube music. The chromecast issues are making it a bad experience - interrupted playback, bad sound quality, lack of control of playback due to connection dropout on the phone.

On top of that, I do not understand that basic functionality like adding a playlist to the active queue does not work from the android app - only from a PC browser.

So far it’s not been a happy switch :-(

I can use Deezer with Alexa, but I can command it only with voice and not from app

Same problem! I have premium account + Chromecast audio connected with optical to a dac. When I streaming I can't see HQ icon, and I'm not sure that I streaming in HQ!

Another problem is that I can't see Alexa connection when I open the app

And another one thing which irritate me comparing to other streaming apps - could you implement start/end time in notification window and dot/ball at progress bar showing moment of song, please?

Rudi, I've just installed an update for Android version of Dezeer (6.1.21.66).

Could You tell me if it's a proper, fixed version for streaming music via Chromecast Audio?

Or should I wait patiently for your information about full compatibility between Chromecast and Dezeer?

Thank you for expressing your concerns, it's very important to us. The Chromecast integration isn't a required feature for HiFi users - this subscription is available for an array of speakers which support the format. Deezer decided to include a Cast integration so that it can give users more options in order to stream their music. In fact, FLAC streaming is also now available on our mobile apps and Xbox One:thumbsup_tone2:

Using your analogy, you have a car with all windshields, but you want to take a hatchback to a country experience. You need 4x4 for that. And that's exactly what we're working on :wink: it's also very important to bear in mind that the technology belongs to another company, so we need time to make it work properly so that it isn't the way it is now.

The good news is that we're expecting exciting news about this feature next month. And we'll need your feedback to make it even better! :nerd:

 

@Rudi, I understand you are personally caught between customer pressure who want quality functionality and a dev team who think the amount of work spent trying to provide it can be used as an excuse for their lack of tangible results.

Honestly, as a paying customer, how long would you be prepared to listen to a dealer PR telling you they’ve been unsuccessfully putting a lot of time and work into trying to fit a windshield on that car you purchased? What if they told you they’ve undertaken a major dashboard overhaul to fix the issue? How long would you bear with them?

Paying customers won’t give you A for effort long, I’m afraid.

Obviously the project isn’t being professionally run with the right competencies on board.

It seems to me the least Deezer can do is compensate those of us who’ve been driving without a windshield. And then officially state that casting to CC is but a beta feature for now.

Any thoughts?

@Rudi Deezer & you are full censored. All hifi subscribers not using Sonos shold be compensated for the time that CCA implementation hasen't worked. HIFI subscription is useless without cast functionality.

Hi, the Chromecast connection is still being fixed and updated to a new version, but not released yet. Maybe your Denon AVR is able to use Chromecast instead of a Bluetooth connection?

Rudi, thanks for info. I like your stuff, but with problems using it via Chromecast Audio it's useless now for me. I'll be waiting for fix it. Keep your work and give an info when it will be ready for use.

Same here @Robert Van de Wiel it's been over 9 months now, and more and more mechanisms have been added to our latest releases of the mobile app. We should expect more news in the next couple of months - I'll keep our community informed :thumbsup_tone2:

I've just upgraded my account to HiFi tier and it was a big mistake. I stream music via Chromecast Audio to speakers and it's main  and the most important function for me. Unfortunately this function is completely useless in Dezeer. I see info "loading" very often, it's impossible to listen music. I'm very disappointed. I had Tidal HiFi earlier and there is no comparison to it. I like layout of Dezeer but if you don't fix the problem I have to return to Tidal. Interestingly, this problem doesn't  occur so often at HQ tier.

We're still waiting for updates from our team @Andrew.Chick. But I know we've done substantial work on this already, and that's why we're using Google's new protocol - so that we can be ahead of the competition on this :smirk:

@Rudi  Any news?      I tried Deezer again today - didn’t get more than 5 minutes of music through a chromecast audio before it stopped - switched to the Google home integration which worked briefly until I tried to skip a song and then it stopped and did nothing. I gave up.

I’ve cancelled Tidal (no Google Integration), cancelled Spotify (awful chromecast integration, stupid design choices)  so it’s between Deezer and YT Music if Deezer can sort out casting.    YT Music is well behind Deezer in so many ways, but at least the cast integration and Google home integration works *all* the time.
