Chromecast issues

I am having a lot of trouble casting to my Sony STR DN1080. It will sync but the playback cuts in and out and the songs don’t play from start to finish. It is an ongoing issue and I’m at the stage where I don’t know why I’m paying for this app when I can only stream via Apple TV. I have the app loaded on an iPhone, iPad and Samsung S7. All of which are having the same problem. I just updated the amp and it made no difference.

A well known issue.... Don't get your hopes that it will be solved. Chromecast and Deezer are on the. Low priority list.
Issue is only 10 months now....

Hi @Justin I understand the frustration, but believe me we would like to have this solved ASAP as well. I can guarantee you that this is very high on our priority list and we are looking into this with Google as well. Keep reporting issues you are having in the topic linked above and we pass them on.
This is ridiculous - I bought a $150 chromecast enabled speaker just in order to be able to enjoy Deezer in my kitchen, but it works like merde
What a joke. 4 months without a fix for Chromecast. What kind of cowboy outfit is this? This is totally unacceptable. I will be contacting UK Trading Standards about this before leaving your awful service. I believe that you are advertising a service that you are not providing.

The most frustrating part is.... They come with updates on the app... But only stupid extra features. If the can't get it to work with Chromecast why bother those extra features.

Clean up your shit. But good idea I will write some consumer protect organizations in the Netherlands.

I wish they would prioritise Chromecast - i use chromecast with a lot of audio apps and deezer has been the worst user experience of all - it is a great app overall which is what makes me stick with it - but this has been a problem for far too long, chromecast issues have been there for over 3 years.

Deezer is currently unusable on ChromeCast audio if connected via TOSLink.

I revived a pretty decent old SONY amp that has an optical input, but no HDMI / modern connectors, and music sounds fantastic through it and the large spaekers attached to it.

Unfortunately, for the past 6 months - 1 year (not sure exactly when it started) the ability for deezer to play consistently has deteriorated massively.
It is now at the point where I can't get through a single song without it stuttering or pausing. This never used to happen.
I have narrowed it down to the combination of Deezer and TOSLink via the ChromeCast audio, as I have now taken out a spotify subscription and can switch directly to it and the issue goes away.
I also have an audio connected directly via 3.5mm jack in another amp, and that does not suffer from the same issue, even when in the same group.

I am aware that ChromeCast audios have been EOL'd from Google's point of view, but I have 5 of them set up in various groups, and have them powering my whole house.

Things that I have tried:
Factory Reset.
Changing ChromeCast audio to a brand new one.
Changing to a ChromeCast audio from a different country (like I said.. I have a few..).
Connecting via 3.5mm to external amp (problem goes away)
Connecting via 3.5mm to external powered speakers (problem goes away)
Resetting Router.
Changing Router.
Changing location of ChromeCast Audio.
Changing to Spotify (problem goes away)
Changing to Amazon Music (problem goes away)
Using Android to cast
Using iOS to cast
Using Google Home to cast
Creating Groups
Removing all groups
Removing all other devices on the network (other than a phone)
Magic Incantations
Pleading with it

I'm currently using a Pixel to control it, but please don't bikeshed on Android issues, this affects any device that casts.

I've used Deezer for years, have my whole library on it, adore flow, and have it as part of my daily routine. I really don't want to have to give up on it, but I like my current audio setup.

If this is a known issue, is there a workaround I may have overlooked, or an estimated time frame for a fix.

It has not fixed still. Frustrating. Another reason to leave Deezer (first is "Hear this" missing).

A lot of my message were removed.... Thanks Deezer for taking customers not serious.... Ended my subscription done with this amateuristic company.

Instead of taking the time to wipe out customer complaints fix the issue!!

Great observation, this matches exactly my issue.

My setup is:
- living room: Chromecast Audio (CCA) via Toslink
- bedroom: CCA via headphone jack / cinch

With the Toslink connection, I get random interruptions for about 0,5 - 1 seconds every now and then. Analogue connection in bedroom works wirlthout any flaws.

Hope this helps to narrow down the issue that has existed for years now...

Working on getting chromecast support working OVER A YEAR SINCE IT WAS FIRST NOTED....

Working on recovering popular topics that were apparently marked as spam (more like you were getting fed up of the negativety from users complaints falling on deaf ears...)

What a joke, are we to believe that there is any work going on at all? Because I very much doubt it.

Shortly this thread will strangely be picked up as spam and removed....

Having had Chromecast Audio work seamlessly before on my Philips Soundbar HTL5160B/12, I am now frustrated to say I can't even connect through the Deezer app. Other apps work fine, as does whole phone mirroring, which allows me to send a Deezer stream. However, as I am a HiFi subscriber, I feel I am missing out (wonder if this is related to the issue). As I got a 12 month subscription I am tied in, however if this isn't resolved then I will be leaving at the end.

@Justin no threads were intentionally deleted. The recent spam attacks affected our filters, which accidentally removed some of our popular topics.

@m5n0w sometimes a topic has a best answer marked so that ALL users in the topic get an update. Our community host calls the topic as solved, but the same doesn't apply to us from Deezer, who take all of the feedback to the devs and respective teams.

Unfortunately not. I think it's difficult to predict when we'll have a better Chromecast experience delivered because we're currently working on different features and plans at the same time. But this is notably one of our crucial ones...
