Fix it!!!

It just doesn't work at all. I've been trying to find a solution to fix the everlasting problem of being unable to cast Deezer from a mobile device to my receiver (Onkyo TX-8270). Tried everything and came to the conclusion the Chromecast function in the Deezer app is simply flawed. Trying to cast it takes a good minute to even make a connection and then the song plays for a few seconds before its struggles to buffer and stutters. If and when it decides to play the song its plays up to 3 songs before freezing up all together. Connecting Spotify on the other hand is done in seconds and the music plays back fine. Thus I just canceled my Deezer subscription to switch to Spotify.

Best of luck with your crappy Chromecast functionality.

Hello Alex, I am using Chromecast with the Deezer App on my iOS devices and have no such issues, so which mobile devices are you using that don‘t work?

I'm using a Samsung Galaxy A3 (2016) and I'm casting to a Onkyo TX-8270. Casting to my external Chromecast 2 does seem to work most of the time. Just not to the reciever. Where Spotify gives no such problems.

So the Onkyo built-in Chromecast receiver seems to have an issue with Deezer and I just read here that Deezer came via a Firmware update in August to the Onkyo device, so could it be that the Firmware is not mature enough for Deezer yet?
The latest Firmware update does not mention Deezer, but have you already installed that?

It has been on the receiver ever since I bought it back in march. And I get a notification for updates and update right away. But none of the firmware updates have made a difference.

The article you provide seems to be about the support of Deezer Hifi via the built in Deezer app. And it doesn't mention chromecast built in anywhere in the article. The built in Deezer app they refer to in the article is also on my receiver and that works just fine. It's just that its user interface is only good for looking up your favorite albums. Searching is a pain. That's why I prefer to cast from my phone

OK, I understand your setup better now. The Chromecast built-in is mentioned in the Onkyo device features, not in the article and I thought when you state you want to cast to your Onkyo you try to do that using the biult-in Chromecast, correct? If so I would expect the issue between the Deezer App and the Onkyo receiver as the Chromecast 2 works with the Deezer App. Have you tried to connect the Chromecast 2 to your Onkyo for a test (I would expect you use that device normally somewhere else)?

Correct, the issues l experience are with the chromecast built in. And indeed the other chromecast I normally use elsewhere. Onkyo suggested my home network could be the problem. So yesterday as a final effort to exclude that option I tested my receiver at a friends house with exactly the same problems.

And as I said before, Spotify has no such problems, its just the deezer app that won't work with the chromecast built in. Deezers support send me as test account earlier with no difference. And they couldn't see any problems.

Could it be this issue also? https://en.deezercommunity.com/troubleshooting-and-tips-4/chromecast-audio-issues-streaming-interrupted-4888/index3.html

Not exactly, seems the problem in that case is some short interuptions when playing music. In my case it simply fails to connect or cut out after an x amount of songs. I'll try to make a video of the issue.

This is what using the chromecast build in looks like for me.

Note that after skipping to the next song the chromecast build in crashes completely.
Same issue with me..
Deezer sound quality is better than spotify but cannot connect with onkyo tx 8270 via chromecast. Any updates?

Hi @odemano I am sorry, but we do not have any updates at this point. We are working on renewing the whole system of Chromecast and it is taking longer than expected. We kindly ask for some more patience.
