Hi,

anyone got the email from BMW that they stop supporting Deezer in Connected Drive(Music) next month (November 2020). This is really on short notice!

Only Spotify will be supported.

Any comments from Deezer on that, any information? @Deezer

And again I have to switch the whole family.

My car is 2020..new Z4 and just received a change in the terms and conditions.. No more deezer and still no android auto

@Deezer.. It's bad for you as they clearly push the clients to subscribe to Spotify instead...

Tried to escalate to bmw but still no answer.. I find bad that they try to kill competition and promote only Spotify,  Apple...

ok, the 5series is getting Android Auto in 2020. But anyhow that’s all not the same as the neat integration of Deezer in Connected Music. I don’t want to switch always between the BMW OS and Apple/Android Auto screen.

Hey man, I just turned off the ‘apps” in phone connection settings in my bmw 220, now it’s only bluetooth and it’s sooooo much faster than these lousy integration apps from BMW. it’s like 4-5 times faster connection from now on  )

Hi there @Andrey Evdokimov @FBI

Thank you for reporting this and for your patience. I've asked our teams to let us know about what's going on.

In the meantime, please bear in mind that Deezer offers Android Auto as an integration and another one under development for the future

That’s cool. But the BMW does not offer Android Auto integration, so this does not help.

Android Auto is only supported by the 2020 models of BMW.

And btw, what I really miss is an official statement from Deezer about this.I remember there have been ads about the close Deezer/BMW partnership and now … nothing about.

Thank you for the insights and for your patience @FBI

We're also waiting for our teams to give us an official reply. I'll get back here once we've got it :thumbsup_tone2:

I will also have to quit Deezer Family account than and move whole family to Spotify. Nobody wants that!

We certainly don't either @FBI
Because it's a commercial partnership, we've got to wait a bit before having more info - at least info we can share. But our partnerships teams are on this :pray_tone2:

Hey @FBI and all, here's what I've got:

It is confirmed that BMW will be removing the Deezer dedicated app for Connected Drive users. In order to still access Deezer on your BMW entertainment system, you'll need to use either Android Auto or CarPlay mirroring experiences as mentioned above.

You mentioned that only 2020 models will have AA. Fortunately, BMW told us that all vehicles will have access to Android Auto & CarPlay if they have completed the OTA update to the 7.20 BMW OS. BMW is pushing this remotely to all vehicles but it hasn't been straight-forward so far. BMW encourages users to reach out their support for assistance on this :thumbsup_tone2:

There is no change for Online Entertainment users, BMW is still supporting this experience and users are still able to renew their Deezer subscriptions.

Thanks for your understanding :pray_tone2:

Hello,

This does not seem to be right. I have a BMW 740e from 01/2016 with a valid Online Entertainment subscription until June 2021.

Online Entertainment stopped functionning 2 months ago, all I now see is a screen telling me that music digital rights need to be verified at least every 30 days. Already downloaded music keeps playing but that’s all it’s still does.

I have a ticket open with BMW Connected Drive support but those guys seem completely clueless, according to them “it should still work”

On an “old” BMW like mine there is no OS 7.20 and the Carplay integration is really really lame. This is quite a shame especially when you spent the extra 6k € to be able to hear your Deezer music in the car…

Kind regards.

Hi Rudi,

I’m sorry but your words highlighted in red are clearly not 100% right.  There is an issue that is being continually highlighted re checking rights which has been noted both above and in my post here

and you’ll understand that we are all getting very frustrated with this.  Some confirmation from Deezer that there is a problem and that it is being sorted would help.

I have the some problem!
I’m dezeer user from about six years and today I wanted play my music on my BMW as always with plug cable but the dezeer app is disappear and now is impossible as usual...

I’m very inc4zz4to Italian user

Have just come across this in my car now that I am using it regularly again. Disappointed by the lack of communication from BMW and Deezer.  I expect no less from a car company that treats it’s customers with disdain at the best of times, but not from Deezer.

I chose Deezer because of it’s connection with my BMW. I’m stuck with the car for a few more years so looks like I’ll be migrating to Spotify (and that thought makes me even more angry).

I’d like to know whether this is a Deezer decision or BMW? I need to know where to raise my concerns.

Hi there @chicco79

Have you contacted BMW in the meantime? @NeilF apologies, it seems that I've missed your reply.

The info was provided to me at the time, apologies for the confusion.

Hey @humph replied to you here as well - check the topic above, by @NeilF

@chicco79 You can still use Bluetooth I guess?

I have the same issue in the Netherlands: my BMW stopped seeing Deezer in the end of 2020.

It would be nice if Deezer reps checked and informed the community about the annoying problem.

Hey @Andrei.Popov

Sorry for the inconvenience. Have you tried to connect using a different method?

The topic mentioned above has a comment explaining that BMW and Deezer no longer hold a partnership for their car system.
