BMW Connected Drive and Deezer app

Hi. I am struggling to add the deezer app to my bmw. I am unable to get the app in the vehicle through connected drive or via the connected drive app on my mobile. How do I go about adding the deezer app in bmw connected drive apps?

Hi @karlvymetal,

Sorry to hear about it.

Can you please try the following and let me know if it works for you?

  1. make sure your Deezer account email address and your BMW Connected Drive email address are exactly the same.
  2. Log out from Deezer on all devices >> then go to your BMW » click on log in with existing account (Please do not register a new one) » make sure you think about capital and small letter in your password.

In case these steps don’t work out for you, please double-check whether a Deezer subscription is included in your BMW package or not :)

Hi @Guilherme.

Thank you however this does not seem to fix the problem. My idrive does not have deezer as an application and in the BMW connected drive app on android it only has spotify as supported apps. Everything seems to work fine with IOS so problem just seems to be on android.

Hey @karlvymetal

Thanks for coming back. Have you also tried contacting BMW about a firmware update or something similar?

Hi Rudi,

I have, they mentioned I will need to wait for Android Auto to be released in my area.

I also contacted BMW, since the last update of the car, their provider no longer supports deezer but rather than spotify.

It is pure shame to withdraw the service without warning and en masse forcing all these users to register for an account with someone else.

Especially since the quality of service is much worse for an audiophile.

We don't even know how to take advantage of our 2000 euro sound system

Do you have the right to withdraw services like this without warning?
You leave an application no longer working without any message after update

Bonjour @François.Urzica

We completely understand you, but please bear in mind that's a commercial partnership and BMW has made their decision.

You can still enjoy Deezer on your BMW via Android Auto or CarPlay. Just make sure you contact BMW to get your card firmware updated to the latest version - no need to change services! :relaxed:

And without a smartphone we do it?
The only option then remains is spotify? they may give royalties to BMW ^^

Not working with Spotify either. Tonight coming back home Spotify logo disappeared as well. The only option in to use CarPlay but the GPS interface becomes less appealing .

This morning Spotify works again but not Deezer. Also called BMW which told me that they discontinued Deezer to focus on Spotify only. This is scandalous. This is forcing to move to Spotify if you want to keep using the BMW interface and not CarPlay. What can Deezer do to get back to BMW? I think Deezer needs to push for reactivating Deezer on legacy customer. Such discontinuation can not happen on already connected users.

Hey there @schumi2974 @François.Urzica

Thank you for your feedback, it's a shame really. But BMW, like other big names, somehow trust other services to be their main option, not giving users the power of choice.

It's a commercial partnership, so we did our bit but in the end, it's their decision. Deezer is the underdog :nerd:

Thank you for your support along the way :thumbsup_tone2:
