Hi there, Deezer on Apple Watch is only a remote control I am afraid. It is not built to work with the cellular network. We can hopefully add this feature in the near future 😉

Hello, is there any chance I can listen the music from my iWatch without my iPhone? The cellular function is working. Thank you

Hi @Ann VL please see above 😉
Hi Deezer,

I notice this post is now 7 Months old. Is there an ETA on when this functionality will be available?

Thanks

We don't have an ETA, but we have already passed the feedback to Apple 😉

There are so many threads asking for Deezer to work on apple watch like apple music- even spotify has this feature. As with many others i am a runner and don’t want to take my phone on long ones and am fed up of listening to the same tunes and don’t to purchase more music when i subscribe to Deezer.

Come on Deezer, pull your finger out or i will have no choice but to go back to Spotify.

At least give us a timescale as so many others have asked for?????

Hi there @Jonnytbar

Thank you for your open and honest feedback. I'll be passing this on to the relevant teams to see if we have an update about this.

It is indeed something our developers wanted to work on this year :thumbsup_tone2:

+1 to this request. I was totally shock.

Must tell you, just tell your business guys how many users you will loose because of this feature.

You should possibly thank the Netherlands for not supporting esim yet - so I still need the phone to listen any case.

So, just to make sure, there are 2 requests coming from the community.

  1. Streaming for Apple Watch with LTE/etc.
  2. Music downloads for people with non LTE watches.

Thanks for the support @ItayP we'll pass your comments to the relevant teams here at Deezer :thumbsup_tone2:

I moved one year ago to Apple Music - one of the reasons is missing streaming over LTE.

I love recomendations of Deezer so mich more then from Apple Music and would love to come back to Deezer. But without streaming over LTE on Apple Watch no chance.

Please let us know when this feature will come.

We'll get that done for you in the near future, @sirma

Hey guys,

I really love Deezer - I tried all major competitors and they cannot compete with your clean and intuitive interface.

The only lack I ever found in deezer was the missing Depeche Mode - Heroes song (original song of David Bowie) :))

Nevertheless the lack of Apple Watch LTE independent streaming option made me unsubscribe a couple of days ago from the future payment to Deezer :(. Also the iPhone app is not that responsive to Siri :(. At a certain point I really hoped that Apple acquires Deezer and replaces their poor Music App… guys, there are a lot of people like me out there and they just do not consume the time writing to you and simply leave… for the competition.

I hope you’ll realize sooner that you have to do something in this direction and at least announce a due date for implementing the autonomous playing capability of Apple Watch.

Cheers!

Hi @(Alex) thanks for your feedback. Of course we realised that the right direction is to have a standalone app for the Apple watch. As much as I would like to provide an ETA for this I can’t at the moment, but I hope that we can announce it during 2021.:nerd:

Come on Deezer. This is long overdue now. You could wipe the floor of your completion with this by making it optional to stream hi-if.

Hello Alex and Deezer team

No doubt about Deezer but I  am planning to unsubscribe this month too because I was waiting for long time for Apple Watch stand alone app. How long does Deezer team need to build an app with all the required licenses for stand alone apple watch app??

Regards

Omar

Hey, Omar @omark

Now that we're developing the app?! Don't unsubscribe!

It isn't about how long. It's about prioritisation because we're unable to build everything at the same time.

But the good news is that we're a few months away from having this and other massive improvements. Stay tuned and you won't miss out!

Well I hope Deezer sort this out by June this year, or I’ll be unsubscribing too. I’ve been fed up, having to have my phone with me, to listen to Deezer, when I don’t actually need my phone every time.

Hey @chuxx

Our new standalone Apple Watch is coming soon - I've tested it and it's amazing

Stay tuned!

Any ETA on the new Apple Watch App.

As long as soon is before June 2021, we’re good👍🏾 Anytime after June 2021, I’m out.

Deezer need to work faster, especially since Spotify HiFi is on the horizon.

Imagine Spotify start their HiFi plan “soon” match Deezer HiFi in price and we know you can stream Spotify on Apple Watch without your phone.

I’m no economic analyst, if the above happens, Deezer will experience a hit in subscription?

No ETA yet because we're testing it @J_Filbs but it shouldn't be long now! I'll let you know :relaxed:

Hey @chuxx

I don't think anyone can match our 14.99 HiFi offer right now and in the near future! We've just started offering HiFi Family as well, for an extra fiver :money_mouth:

Happy to do a comparison with you at any time but don't worry about June, I believe we're on schedule for this

That’s not true. I’m an Amazon Prime member, If I took up Amazon HD, it would cost me 12.99. The only reason I didn’t take up Amazon HD, is I didn’t like the way their app is laid out and mixed up with my music purchases. If that changes, I’d certainly put my Prime Membership to good use.

Sure @chuxx but our catalogue is different and that's on top of your existing Amazon subscription - I was referring to offer for offer. In any case, what matters here is the integration to Apple Watches.

I've been testing the app at the moment and I can tell you that it's super cool - if you register for the iOS Beta you might be able to get a hand on that too. For more info, please see here:
