Music, culture and games.

I’ve been reading this section with pleasure. I thought we may add more value to it with topic about movies. My work place pays my swimming in pools and movie enjoyments in theaters.

I watch fresh movies from 10 to 20 a year in theatres, and sometimes I rent from 1 to 5 movies.

Yesterday I watched brand new horror movie, The Rental.

It’s not the best horror movie I watched, but is totally worth it.

My honest opinion about it is 6 out of 10.

Why, you may ask?

Again, I’ve seen better horror movies.

Great buildup with a pointless, disappointing ending. It was a good work, but for a horror movie I’ve been waiting a little bit more of horror. Even though the film is a long way from being perfect, I think it can definitely open a modern slasher franchise, with great and unique storytelling for this genre.

May you recommend movies to watch or honest opinion why not to watch them.

Sometimes we can do better than wasting our time on bad movies.

Unfortunately The Rental isn’t one of them! Perhaps you need to watch it for yourself?

Hi @hpguru! My dear colleague @Rudi told me you were looking for some feedback on Antebellum.

I actually saw it in theatre this week.

What is your honest opinion about this horror movie? Is it scary at all?

I had high expectations on the horror side due to its classification in this category, but I wouldn’t say it’s a horror movie at all. I think most of the negative reviews are from people who actually expected one.

It’s a good social thriller, with some stressful scenes.

I think it’s worth watching, it was good enough to give me some food for tought.

I won’t tell you more for now, I’d rather wait until you watched it

I’ll just add main actress Janelle Monae - I love her music by the way!- did really well.

Please let me know when you watched it, I’m now curious to know if you’ll like it.

Thanks.

You posted just enough, but not too much. I was able to empty one ticket for next friday.

I will keep you informed, about this thriller.

Some people do not like it when something is in horror and they don’t get it much.

I go for movies, not for genres usually.

Again, many thanks for your review.

It didn’t spoiler anything, but told exactly what I needed to consider my ticket.

I've been watching a lot of kids movies at the moment @hpguru  with my children, obviously.

But as a throwback, I've watched Waterworld recently - what a Costner Classic hahahah

Good day.

Have you watched, even shortly, the fresh movie Antebellum?

Last friday it was on premiere, but I am able to enjoy it in theatre this friday. Is it worth watching. I do like scifi, horror and action movies. Is it worth the price? I mean, I watch from 10 to 20 movies a year completely free, but I am still aware that wasting free tickets on bad movies is not good. As I can watch good movies only. Next friday I will watch it if no one will say otherwise. Movies are good.

Waterworld is something I need to search more. Perhaps one day I can rent it if good.

Rents I usually pay for myself, but theatre tickets are free (with extra money I receive from work directed into sports & culture). Very good way to keep working class happy and fit.

You're selling Finland to us @hpguru! That's really nice.

I'm not a big fan of horror films, to be honest. I like thrillers, but horrors aren't that great anymore. I'm a fan of The Exorcist though :nerd:

I’d rate it 7 out of 10.

Antebellum it is a thriller, not really a horror movie, which made it even more interesting to watch. Some humour here and there, and excellent ending. It was a bit boring at a time, but it did fine job. To entertain people. All people sat in theatre to the end. If you want pure horror, then go shopping elsewhere. Recommended for people who likes weird movies like this one. Enjoy!

Hey @hpguru! I’m so happy you liked it, 7 out of 10 is decent! I think I’d rate it just the same.

Tomorrow I’m going for Christopher Nolan’s new movie, “Tenet”. Have you seen it?

Yes, of course I’ve seen it. On first day Premiere.

Needed to go IMDb to see my rating for it. It was 7 out of 10 as well.

It was full of great action and nice performance.

In the end after that movie I walked away very satisfied. Money is not wasted.

Because I need nothing to pay (my work pays), but for you it might be good information.

I guarantee you’ll leave money well spend on Tenet.

Recommended, but if you don’t thrive with action, you better look elsewhere.

This is pure action movie which satisfy someone who is in love with it.

It was worth watching for someone who is a huge huge fan of Liam Neeson.

I’d say this movie was amazon and very interesting to follow.

Guite predictable at sometimes.

Just don’t go and wait to see Taken 1, you’ll be fine.
