How are users getting on with Deezer 360?

360 is a different way of taking in music.

It could be the future. Or it could be a 5-minute wonder.

It could get superseded by a more adventurous technology (although Sony have marketing muscle).

I haven’t see a 360 thread in Community - do point me if there is one.

In the meantime, how are users liking it. With a large enough catalogue, could it become your default way of listening? Or does it actually spoil your old favourites, hearing them in a new way?

Over to you….

I agree it would be better to build the 360 functionality into the Deezer app, and I’m very disappointed (on iPhone at least) with the remixed sound quality.  (It seems to sound better on my Samsung.)

My other gripe is with the catalogue. It’s so small anyway. And so much of the content isn’t just (to my ears) second rate; it’s hard to imagine what demographic would invest in hearing it in spatial HiFi

But it doesn’t need a new profile; it just interacts with your main Deezer app, including the ability to play your full Deezer library bypassing any EQ settings in the main app.

This is the best thing about having a separate 360 app. It means I can fit my entire download V library into less than 80GB at 320kbps (and set appropriate EQ) in the main app, while still being able to stream anything from my library in raw FLAC via the 360 app when there’s a good WiFi sognal. And frankly, the little app is better for this than for playing the 360 catalogue*

  • I’m happy to hear from @Rudi that further development is planned.

Hey! @Freezer

We were trying a few things when we launched our exclusive app with Sony. The catalogue was small, with no big features.

However, this year we're going to take our 360 by Deezer app to another level! Stay tuned, please

Looking forward to it!

The app has rightfully such poor reviews in the Google playstore. It's just so poorly made.

Why even create a seperate app for 360 listening? Why not include it to the Deezer app instead?

I personally won't even bother starting a seperate app, with basically a seperate profile.

If the 360 feature doesn't get build into the main app, it has no future tbh wu. The critiques will only become worse and worse. There's literally no need for a seperate app, when you have the main app for that.

Deezer will just waste their time and resources, if they keep investing into a seperate app. People don't want to use 10 different Deezer apps.

@Harmonie i completely see your point. But for Deezer, integration with the main app could well be a costlier investment than maintaining it separately.

Particularly if “360 audio”, which is a Sony proprietary, goes the same way as their Betamax video system in the face of a more popular solution.
