Hello my fellow music lovers!

I don’t know about you, but for me Christmas is the ideal period to spend time watching Christmas movies (all hail Hallmark Channel and their amazing countdown to Christmas!) and read Christmas stories. A popular one, besides The Grinch obviously, which is making quite the headlines at the moment, is A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens.

If you are not familiar with this novella, A Christmas Carol recounts the story of Ebenezer Scrooge, an elderly miser who is visited by the ghost of his former business partner Jacob Marley and the spirits of Christmas Past, Present and Yet to Come. Without giving too much away for those of you who didn’t know this book, let’s just say that after their visits, Scrooge is transformed into a kinder, gentler man.

Over the next few days, we will explore “Ghosts” of Past, Present and Future in the music industry, starting today with Amy Winehouse, and here are a few key info about this incredible artist:

Amy Jade Winehouse (14 September 1983 – 23 July 2011) was an English singer and songwriter. She was known for her deep, expressive contralto vocals and her eclectic mix of musical genres, including soul, rhythm and blues, and jazz. Her debut album, Frank (2003), was a critical success in the UK and was nominated for the Mercury Prize. Her follow-up album, Back to Black (2006), led to five 2008 Grammy Awards, tying the then record for the most wins by a female artist in a single night, and made her the first British woman to win five Grammys, including three of the General Field "Big Four" Grammy Awards: Best New Artist, Record of the Year and Song of the Year.

@Rob Igo I haven't yet, no, it's on my list of things to watch, but I'm afraid I would spend my time crying, like for the Michael Jackson one 😭
