Tracks & albums repeatedly downloading in Deezer iOS app

Hi,

I am running Deezer 8.28.2.1 on iOS 14.  I have been using the download feature since it was available, but recently I've seen a problem with it.  I can download an album, but eventually, it will try to download it again.  This seems to leave duplicates of all the albums or tracks it downloads again.  I first noticed it when I got an alert that the app was inactive.  Upon further investigation it became clear it was downloading a load of albums again.  I let it complete and then say a load of duplicates.

Then, if I try to delete one of the duplicates, both get deleted.

I've tried clearing the cache and reinstalling, but the problem persists.

Has anyone experience this problem?

Hi @Stephen.Levett  I have been informed by our developers that the problem has been fixed with the latest version of the Deezer app. Can you please update your Deezer app to version 8.29.0 and let me know if it works?

Sorry to report that the problem has not been fixed in the latest update. Running 8.29 and deleted and reinstalled the app but the issue remains.

Could you please let us know if you're being affected the same way @teaumaz is? I'm waiting for confirmation that this isn't present on 8.30 which is out very soon.

I deleted and reinstalled, but I still have 8.29 not 8.30?  Is 8.3 available for iOS on the app store?

But even in 8.30 it’s not fixed. Today again a downloaded playlist just got deleted ( the playlist and songs are still there, just no longer downloaded). This is becoming a bit annoying Rudi as I have to keep on downloading over 800 songs. Also, I’m starting to fear that, one day, I’ll be outside of a WiFi connection and will no longer be able to listen to my playlists. A fix was promised since 8.29 and still the problem persists. I’m happy to help out in any way I can...

Oddly, I no longer seem to have the problem on 8.29?  I’ve no idea why it has suddenly stopped as it was happening daily.

So sorry about this @teaumaz we need to go back to the drawing board about it. Please hang in there!

In the meantime, have you checked the app's storage settings? Maybe try to increase space for the smart cache feature.

It has started happening again.  Most of my downloaded albums are downloading again.

I'm on my phone right now so can't upload a screenshot, but I’ll do it as soon as I can.

I am no on 8.31.0.2 on iOS.

I have 25 albums downloaded and 1209 favorites. Perhaps I've gone over a threshold somewhere?

I may have discovered something about this issue.  I noticed ½ my albums started to download again when I switched to a new wifi network that I hadn’t previously connected to.

No, you haven't gone through any threshold. It's something we're actually investigating and that could be sorted in the next release of our app, I'm keeping an eye on it.

And yes, every little helps! Please bear in mind that we're on 8.36 at the moment, for iOS 13 and 14.
