Super slow on fast wifi


Hey! Starting the app and playing music on 4G works like a charm, but as soon as I switch to wifi things get slow. Loading my favourites playlist takes approx 10 seconds and starting a song takes several seconds as well. I know the wifi signal is strong and all so it’s not related to that. Could it be a firewall or router port issue?

I’m running Deezer Hifi on version 8.39.0.6, on iOS 14.5.1 and have restarted my router, reinstalled the app, signed in and out — and as said, Deezer works perfect on 4G and every other app works perfect on wifi as well.

I’m facing the exact same issue.

 

While trying to download any song / playlist using wifi sadly doesn’t work as soon I turn it off and use 4g the download starts.

 

Using iOS 14.7 beta, I did try to reset the phone network settings, remove the app etc, no change., downloads work smoothly using tidal on the same device, there’s plenty of space free (around 170gb).

Interesting! So I guess we have the same kind of issue then (or the same kind of router, perhaps?). Just for fun I timed loading my “Favourites” playlist on Wifi. It took 16 seconds. On 4G it was less than 2 seconds.

Also starting to play a song from search resulted in 8 seconds buffering on Wifi – less than 1 second on 4G.

 

Anyone from Deezer staff who can help troubleshooting?

As far I know, deezer used TCP 80 and 443 to communicate, those are open on the firewall and I don’t see any packet drop, so it seems to be an issue with the app itself or else nothing else would work on my network, which is not the case, this only happens with Deezer.
