Hi

Are there plans to extend the Hifi, uncompressed streaming, to MacOS and iOS devices and with offline capability on iOS much like Tidal?

Thanks.

HiFi on MacOS is already possible when using the new desktop beta app -- see more here
Thanks Mark, still what about iOS with offline capability?

It's also possible, but HiFi is still not a feature.

Hi there,

Loving Deezer - I switched from Spotify for the HiFi plan. I think the UI is amazing - even better than Spotify.

I was expecting HiFi to be available on the iOS app so that I can Airplay it to my ATV.

Is there any plan to make this available? If so, when?

I know it's available no the desktop app but that's not very practical.

Hi @Lucasp, please see the device list above.

We don't know when HiFi will be available on iPhones taking in consideration that Apple do no support flac quality at the moment, therefore I believe it will not be priority for Deezer at the moment, but hopefully soon!

About our desktop app, please give us your feedback and ideas! We are in constantly improvement and your thoughts are very important for us. Please see this topic:

Hey Rafael, how does tidal do it? I know iOS doesn't support FLAC but it does support other lossless formats.

A way to make FLAC "virtually" available on iOS would be to implement a remote functionality like Spotify has. I know this is also a requested feature - it's something that makes Spotify a lot more usable.
I second this request - with iPhones having 256 gigs of storage it’s finally feasible to have majority of your library cached in FLAC on a phone that’s always with you.
I was going to migrate from Tidal due to Deezer’s more expansive music library and more responsive app, but now after having figured out I can only get MP3 on iOS that changes things. I do a lot of listening on my iPhone, and with headphones as cheap as $100 MP3s already sound significantly inferior, to an extend that it becomes much harder to get immersed in music.

Our format is FLAC and as of now there are no concrete plans to offer an alternative format, but never say never. We always pass your feedback on to the team and they are looking into all possibilities. 🙂 I hope that we'll have some updates about this in the future :)

Regarding the remote function, I agree, that would be amazing. Please vote for this idea so that our team sees how important this is to users.

But iOS 11 does support FLAC on newer iPhones (7,8,X)

I would gladly switch to Deezer from Tidal if Deezer would play lossless music on my iPhone.

Well, I voted.

It's a shame because I have iOS devices, a quality portable DAC, and some reasonably high quality headphones. For now, I am stuck with Tidal as they are the only lossless streaming alternative for iOS.

@babelsquirrel A lot of people are waiting for this, so am I 🙃 Please bear with us for a while, thanks!!

and still I am waiting to give Deezer my money. The day deezer on iOS supports lossless is the day I will subscribe at the HiFi level. Qobuz might get to the US first though.

We are looking into this possibility, but we are not able to say when this will be reality. Sorry about that 😉

Same here, waiting for Deezer Hifi on iOS to spend my money in Europe 😀

Same here, can't wait to have hifi available in my iphone too!
Now we need chromecast to cast in HiFi, but Chromecast doesn't play well with Deezer. It does not sync correctly. Can't really move from one track to another track, especially when using Deezer Flow. So when is HiFi coming to iOS? I'm paying €20/month, and feel it's time to move away from Deezer.

Hi @Loekie Like the team is looking into the possibility of this, but this needs more work than expected and depends on technology advancement.Hopefully this can be reality soon 😉

qobuz is supposedly launching in my country this month. I will probably just go with that rather than wait for deezer to get lossless going on iOS.

For now, I am still stuck with Tidal, the only provider with lossless on iOS.

So now there are three choices in the U.S. for lossless streaming on iOS: Amazon, qobuz, Tidal. Amazon is $12.99/mo with prime. $14.99 without.

I hope deezer catches up soon.

We're actually pretty close to making our FLAC catalogue available on iOS and other devices  please bear with us a bit longer.

Is lossless not available on ios? What is the “High Quality” quality option?

It's being tested on iOS at the moment @brianlg and we're working hard to make it available across all platforms. HQ is simply the best MP3 quality we've got, not lossless. Thank you for your support.

Rudi, will this be a public or beta feature when available? Thanks

Hi @LeighC

Thanks for asking. The feature will be available on different devices at different times - it's tested on Beta versions of the app first, then to all users gradually
