HiFi on HomePod via AirPlay in iOS App?

I'm a HiFi subscriber using the macOS and iOS apps.

The iOS app has the setting "Streaming to devices" and is set to High Fidelity.

Everything I've read states High Fidelity streams at CD Quality (16-bit 1,411 kbps) but on iOS it's limited to MP3 Quality (320 kbit/s).

So, with iOS configured to High Fidelity and Air Playing to a HomePod (that accepts the FLAC codec) an I streaming 16-bit 1,411 kbps or 320 kbit/s?

Thanks,

Don

Hi @dvinton the feature covers Chromecast devices only for now, as far as it says in the app, but I am checking with our developers. As soon as I get an answer I will get back to 😉

Any version of Chromecast?

Can I use HF with my Desktop too?

You can certainly use HiFi on your desktop @Cuitlahuac Friend
About Chromecast, you can use it now, but we're working on an improved integration.
