Carplay - not able to select songs - new behaviour


Ok, the good thing first: finally Artists and Playlists are visible again in CarPlay after updating. But unfortunately the artists and albums are not in alphabetical order. And when you tap on an artist or an playlist, a title immediately starts to play. There is no way of choosing a song or album.

I have signed out and logged myself back into the app, and deleted and reinstalled the app.

What can I do? Will a new update fix the issue?

Hi @fabsello@tr198 we have checked with our developers if this is a bug, they told us that it is actually the intended behaviour now. It was a product decision to make content play as soon as an album, artist or playlist is selected. This decision has to do with Apple's policies on this platform.

Well, the issue seems to be fixed now. However, now is no longer possible to shuffle a playlist from CarPlay interface.
Is this the intended behavior of the new version?

This is nonsense. It's not possible to see the content of the playlists. How can I select a song from a playlist?
How can I shuffle the playlist?
Once I tap on any playlist it automatically starts playing. OK, I get this, but let me chose a specific song from it or to shuffle the playlist.
Who makes product decisions like that???
This is the worst CarPlay integration of any music app. 😢
Well, I have a paid subscription and I'm not able to select songs. WTF is this?
This is stupidest desicion ever. Please, ask your customers how they like to use your service, do not think or make desicion for them.
Is there any posibilitty to change app in short period, as in this case it is almost unusable for me.?
Since the recent iPhone update I’m unable to see the track listing for the albums on apple car play. On selecting an album or playlist it only starts playing the selection from the first track. I’m unable to select tracks or shuffle play?

Thanks for the reply and information, I shall now be cancelling my subscription and changing platform after 5 years.
@Flo.Deezer, so basically we cannot browse trough our playlists anymore? Is this for real?
How can I see the contents of my playlists?

yesterday i update deezer app on iphone xs (Probably update is from x days ago, but i did it yesterday, never mind).

issue i have is:

i connect to car play
press playlist (one of them)
When i press playlist it starts to play song instead it goes to list of songs in that playlist

so in a nutshell there i no more list of songs?!

before update it was working great.

where is issue?

Looool... i just asked same question (didnt see this threat before posting mine).

i have few playlists - one has 120songs.. deezer tell me please how to get to song #62 - to take mobile, look at it while driving and scroll thru playlist.

if this is not solved in next few days - bye bye. There are options out there to replace deezer...
yeah... I paid for a full year. Stupid me.
Hey everybody. I have a question concerning other music services: due to the fact that @Flo.Deezer mentioned that the new change has been made because of Apple restrictions, how is the behavior with Spotify or Apple Music? If you select an Artist or a Playlist, are you able to choose or does the player immediately start with a random song?
Does anyone have the possibility to compare?

Thanks @tr198. Anyone who can say how it is with Spotify? Because if it does work with Spotify then Apple does not restrict this. If it is the same then it could be that Apple wants to have a unique feature and restricts song selection for other apps (but I really doubt that).

As I understand from the above statement, the restriction is to play on Playlist / Author or album selection. NOT to disable song selection. This is BS.
I have a question @Flo.Deezer: I have just made a monthly subscription to Spotify Premium just to try. And there I am able to select songs in all my playlists and if I choose an Artist, all of the Albums I chose from this artist are there in order and I can choose whatever song I would like. So I do not think that Apple restricts that feature...
Then I do not understand the problem why Deezer cannot go back to the possibilities of choosing songs.
I hate the new restriction on playlists showing songs. I'll wait till a new update and if its still the same i'm leaving and switch to spotify.
Already checked but spotify and apple music don't have this so called restriction, so either change it back to what it used to be or i'm gone
Deezer hasn’t worked properly on CarPlay now for over a year - these threads keep saying that the the developers are aware and working on it but it still isn’t fixed. I pay Deezer for a premium service but can’t use it in the car for anything other than flow. No access to playlists, albums, artists at all. Like everyone else on these threads I have the latest updates installed and have tried it with an iPhone 5s, 8 and my iPhone X and none of them work on either of our CarPlay systems.
this really isn’t good enough and without a refund i think I’ll now be moving to another streaming service which is disappointing
There was a thread, where people complained about not being able to select a song from playlist. Why was that thread deleted? What is this bs?
@Flo.Deezer why don't deezer acknowledges that there is an issue?
Serious bug here, not possible anymore to select songs from playlists.
Furthermore, not able to shuffle play playlists in CarPlay interface.
