Apple Watch 5 & iPhone XS combination stopped working with Deezer after update to iOS 14

I was perfectly happy using Deezer on my iPhone XS and my Apple Watch 5, being able to control the songs played on the Watch while doing other things was amazing. Then the update to iOS 14 happened on the Phone and AppleWatch OS7 and while Deezer continues to work absolutely great on my Phone, on the Watch there’s just this cog wheel thing. 

The watch is perfectly synched to the phone and vice versa. All other apps, including the ones used for media all function well. Except…. Deezer…. that just does this…. (see photo)

I’m glad to announce that an update fixing this issue has been released this morning! It is the version 8.23.0.

You can get the update from the App Store by searching for Deezer or pulling down in the updates list screen to force a refresh.

We know about this issue and we are currently investigating. Sorry for the inconvenience.

As a workaround, you can force Deezer iOS app to quit (from the App Switcher, swipe up on Deezer) and open the app again, it while unlock the Watch app.
