AirPlay 2 Compatibility & Whole-House Streaming

When are you going to add AirPlay2 compatibility to mobile and desktop apps? Really frustrating to have these limitations when you want to stream HD music to whole house and cannot connect to separate rooms or systems as you can with Apple Music.

hmm will definitely forward your suggestion to our developers!
I also recommend sharing this as an idea in our ideas forum - there you and other users can vote for the idea in order to make it more popular 🙂

Hi there, Airplay works with our app already if you have compatible speakers. Please note that this has nothing to do with multiroom audio. Airplay2 will only be released in the next update by Apple in iOS 11.4. What exactly are you trying to do? Which speakers are you trying to connect?

Airplay does not work with your desktop app. You have to adjust output in system preferences. In AppleMusic, I can select multiple rooms to stream to simultaneously, and control that from the Remote app on my phone. AirPlay2 has already been released, and although there are some backward-compatible issues (Airport Express not-so-much 😞 ) it enables multiple speakers/rooms to play same music. I have attached screen shot of what I normally do with AppleMusic. It would sure be great if Deezer desktop followed suit.

Just got an email (08/16/18) saying a reply had been posted. Yes, two months ago. It is completely obvious updates to the MacOS app are not forthcoming or remotely a priority. Sad.
Do you know when Air Play 2 will be set up at Deezer (to use multiroom solution) ?.
Thank's.
I have a number of speaker sets in my house that are linked to an Apple Airport Express device. I would like to stream Deezer to some or all of these devices. I am hoping for a solution similar to that in iTunes, where you can play a song and can selected the devices that you wish to stream to on your network. A typical example in iTunes is that I can select to play to a speaker set in the Lounge, Dining Room & Study simultaneously.

The source of music is a Windows computer with Deezer on it. The family has a few Android phone as well as a few Apple devices thrown into the mix. The computer and the Apple Airport Express devices sit on the same network and everything local area network. Connection to the outside world is thru a 100Mbps connection. I would like to stream Deezer on either my Android phones or my Windows computer to all the available devices on my my network.

Does anyone have a solution?

We do not know yet I am afraid. You can create an idea in our suggestion forum about this 😉

Hi @Roche do you mean something like this as described above? 😉

From your phone, AirPlay2 compatibility (via 2nd gen Airport Express and Airport base stations + HomePods and compatible Sonos, Denon equipment) allows you to stream to multiple devices. Note: you can still find older 2nd Gen Airport Express units on eBay and Amazon and Apple just gifted them a firmware update that provides Airplay2.

From a desktop computer, no dice. Deezer seems loathe to do anything about upgrading this platform. If it were any sort of priority it would have been done a LONG time ago.

The company does seem to be very fond of kicking the can down the road by repeatedly suggesting you take your problems to the "suggestion forum." WTF is this forum for if to not solve issues?

Hi @Skister thanks for your feedback. This forum is for all sorts of things. To add this ability would mean to add a new feature to our apps, not really solving an issue. At the moment this feature is not present on our apps, so we mention the suggestion forums as this is about creating a new feature.

I hope this helps.

Well, that's another way to view the issue. You call it an "added feature," and I contend that if you're going to create a desktop application, you should maybe understand the HD music user space, and build whole-house streaming into your software before you release it. I am not subscribing to an HD service to listen to it on my iMac speakers.
