"Minimize to Tray" and Playback Controls for Deezer Desktop App

title: Minimizing desktop app to tray.

description: It would be really helpful to have an option to minimize desktop app into system tray instead of keeping it in taskbar.

platform/device: desktop app for Win/Linux.

There have already been a couple of similar suggestions in general topic (like this https://en.deezercommunity.com/troubleshooting-and-tips-4/deezer-beta-desktop-app-all-feedback-bug-reports-tip-and-ideas-suggestions-here-please-1291/index9.html#post28124 or this https://en.deezercommunity.com/troubleshooting-and-tips-4/deezer-beta-desktop-app-all-feedback-bug-reports-tip-and-ideas-suggestions-here-please-1291/index9.html#post27705). So I believe this idea deserves to have its own place to discuss and vote up. 🙂
This option is a "must have" on every desktop listening app. I have came across many very simple radio or music playing desktops apps, that all have it. And judging by competitors' desktop apps (which all have system tray option), I would hope it will be added in future versions. Thanks.

Same line of thinking here, this is one of those staple features that goes with any music desktop program.

I don't know how this one was overlooked (or why it even needs to be voted for), just by researching competing desktop apps this would be an obvious "must have" feature to include.

Bonus points if Deezer includes Pause/Play/Previous/Next controls in the system tray menu.
Hi there, great idea. Get those users from the topics you have mentioned to vote for it ;)

We are happy to forward this to our devs 😉
I loved the idea of not having to maximize the desktop app to skip/pause/rewind tracks, Amazon Music had this, but too bad for them I switched to Deezer. If we could have it minimize to taskbar that would be a huge plus too so it doesn't show up in our ALT+TAB switches. There were offline mp3 players that could add Play/Pause/Skip functions to tray too, I know that could be complicated, but please consider that too.
yea i think so..

this options must be on settings...

if i want to active, i must be find...

but i want to deactive again, i must be change again.
Hey!

Could you add the option to minimize the app, at closing or an extra button, to the taskbar, where some Windows icons along with time and date appear?

Also would be great if just standing the mouse on it appeared a menu to change the song, etc.

Thanks!
It'll be great if you could add a feature where you could skip or pause or move back a track by hovering over the deezer icon in the taskbar...something that vlc does pretty nicely.
Hello, Deezer! Can u create the feature that hide app to tray when click the hide window button? Maybe create option in app setting.
Guys, plz do not hesitate to upvote this topic.

As I understood - the more votes we put, the faster this task lands on developers plate.
The "Minimize to tray" option is missing. The player does not need to be hung on a bar with open apps, as the musician plays in the background.
Hi @bbo

Please vote for the idea here 😉
It's been a year!!! How is this still pending?
Hi there @claraptj

Our devs actually mentioned that this will be launched very soon! 😉 no precise date yet, but by the Summer - although this may vary if something else gets prioritised.

Summer is coming...
it's a must have

spotify has it for ages
I'm researching for premium music streaming services and so I am on the journey of finding the right one for me. I just finished sampling Spotify premium this month and just started my free premium trial for Deezer. I liked Deezer already for its music quality, I think it has better quality than Spotify premium, but one thing that turned me off is the unavailability of the minimize to tray feature.

Because of that, I don't think I will be considering Deezer anymore. It's a huge thing for me, it's a big deal.

Ugh, this should've been a default feature of your music player.
This is very annoying... Cmon deezer add this freature plus remember last song if you close the client.

Those very important freatures
@Rudi love how you silently edited your original message about releasing it before summer. Very professional. You could at least write a new post saying its being posponed. One of the essential features guys, cmon.
It wasn't postponed @AnvilBear I didn't word it correctly. But thank you for your feedback, when we have more concrete details we'll share 😉
This is a feature with utmost importance alongside dark interface for desktop app. My decision on whether to continue using this app will depend on these two features.
Please Deezer, kill this fuc*ing feature! If I want to minimaze apps, I'll click on minimaze button. If I want to stop playing I'll close the app.

What a surprise -instead of close deezer It's just minimaze to tray a nothing happened. I hate it! Is there any workaround, how turn off this one?
There should be option to turn off this feature. I agree with jirikovoego, the app should not minimize to tray when close button is clicked. There is no way to close the app fast if you are hurrying.
Hi there @jirikovoego @Cermo

Thanks for the feedback. Sorry you're not happy with this feature. Will pass it on to our desktop app team.
Hi,

any update on the topic ? The app every now and then is suprising me by playing music when I shut down it and disconect my headphones in the office. How long it may take to implement simple if statement in the code so people may choose how the app should behave? One month is enough for me ...
Hey @Cermo

No updates on this yet, but the devs have been informed about it. Updates to the app, including fixes, are planned in advance. So it does take some time as well. Thank you very much for your patience.
