Connected Standby Windows desktop version

Windows 10 has connected standy, which means that when putting the device in standby (turn off button), music keeps playing an notifications keep coming. Just like an Ipad, when putting it off.

The thing is, it only works with real apps from the store.

Deezer desktop app is available in the store, but it is not a real UWP. So when I turn of my (screen) from my surface device (or any other device). Music stops. I know I can turn off Connected standby, but that is not what I want. Even when I play radio and deezer at the same time. When I turn off my device, radio keeps playing, but deezer stops.

Is it possible to support connected stanby for Deezer?
Hi there @iljafranken

I've changed the status of your idea and have passed it on. You've also got my vote for the time being! Hopefully more will come 😉
That would be great! Also an ARM64-Version since the "App" is only a containered win32-programm. Not only i have to avoid connected standby deezer also uses immense amount of power - with deezer on my battery drains absurdly.
Thanks @mark_heat will pass the feedback on 😉
It worked when you had Windows Store UWP app.

The you dropped it and how this does not work.

Bring this feature back, please!

It would be especially great to see PWA Store App like Twitter but not Electron based app that has no integrations to Windows 10.

Twitter team shared a lot of their experience and their approaches/libs to quickly build Windows Store PWAs. Use them and deliver demanded level of UX!

Indeed would be great to have a native ARM64 version of Deezer on Windows. The 32-bit version is also draining my battery on the Surface Pro X. It should be relatively easy to do this with Electron 6.0.8+: https://www.electronjs.org/docs/tutorial/windows-arm

@Rudi any update on this one? Thanks!!

Not yet @Dennis Ameling but I'll be chasing our devs to see what they think of it. In the meantime, shouldn't we have a separate idea just for a 64bits desktop app?

@Rudi

Thanks! 🙂 The problem is that Windows on ARM can only run either native ARM64 apps or 32-bit Windows apps (through emulation). If I remember correctly, there already is a "regular" 64-bits version for Windows (amd64). So an ARM64 version would be great 😊

Thanks for coming back to me @Dennis Ameling

I'll let our devs know this could be useful

I'd love this feature as well! I used Spotify for quite some time and I was suprised it kept playing music while my computer was “sleeping” as well.

Thanks for supporting this one too @DamionGans your feedback is essential for our product to improve :thumbsup_tone2:

You can download the old version of the Deezer app. The old version I mean the UWP App. There are a lot of things that are not working like the main page. But playback is working fine. All you need to do is download the AppX Package and turn on Developper Mode in the Settings App of Windows 10. Here is the link

Imagine releasing the source code for the older UWP App. I would fix it in a week. Don’t need to bother your Devs I would fix it since Connected Standby users are still a minority. Will wait to clone the repo.

@Pegasus422 I'd totally join you in that effort haha 🚀
