Provide user listening history/create playlists as a CSV file/Google Sheets/Excel file

When you access your listening history in the Deezer web player, it seems to be endless, i.e. you can scroll down slowly, and more songs come up. It would be great if we could download our complete listening history as a CSV file, e.g. to import it in Last.fm or elsewhere. I guess that the complete listening history of any user is also accessible via your API, right?
Good suggestion. I'm worried when you begin with a new music service and you can't have your songs, albums, playlists, etc from the first music service.

They should collaborate between each other, because Deezer can lose an user that goes to Spotify, but Deezer can also get a new user coming from Spotify.
Can i export my playlists to a csv file?
Can i export my playlists to a csv file?

Hey Faye, it's not possible at the moment, but I moved your question to this ongoing idea topic where you can vote for this to be implemented 😉
Hi there, sorry for the late reply and thanks for this suggestion.

Make more users vote for it and hopefully this will be implemented soon 😉
Also export as a json file.
Can i export my playlists to a csv file?

I'm much more interested in this variation than exporting my entire listening history. I have asked people for suggestions for some of my playlists, and I'd like to be able to share the list of songs with them as a thank-you. Also when considering suggestions, some people have asked me what is already on the list.
Soundiiz.com can do this and other things with your Deezer account, but for most features you have to subscribe there. Other tools like Playlist Converter can do it for free, see related threads in this community.
looks like the new Tool's album is going to see the light before this issue

So... Where can I get the history data generated by me as a user? :)

I might add that due to new GDPR in Europe since 2018 Spotify already offers access to your listening history of the last 365 days in their Privacy account settings. And you can ask for your complete Spotify listening history per email giving a reason for your request.

Hi there,

I think it would be great if we could create playlists in Deezer using Excel/Google Sheets (or any other type of spreadsheet).

There should be a template for Deezer users to download and than type-in the name of the tracks + artist they want to create playlist from.

I got the idea when I came across this entry on Screenrant.com - https://screenrant.com/i-am-not-okay-with-this-season-1-songs-soundtrack/. (an excellent Netflix series BTW!!), I looked in Deezer to see if there’s a dedicated playlist with the songs listed and couldn’t find any.

The idea is once you upload the data to Deezer you’ll get a feedback that:

  • Your playlist has been created
  • Y out of X songs were matched

Here’s a screenshot of the content of the Google sheet that can be used as a future template.

Hi there @ebn2000

Thank you for your detailed and super cool suggestion. I've moved it here so that it can expand an existing idea

Besides Soundiiz there also is TuneMyMusic.com which can access a lot of streaming sites and your accounts on them and convert the content to other streaming sites or export it to a TXT or CSV file. And it is free. Logging into Deezer it lists all your saved favorite songs, albums and artists as well as all playlists to either pick from them or convert them all. Note that it does not include your complete Deezer listening history.

It might take a whole day if you have e.g. a large Last.fm library and want to convert your top artists, albums and songs to e.g. Deezer, but it is working stable in a browser tab during this time, so do not close it which would interrupt the process.

One issue I find with exporting to CSV using Tune My Music is a character set issue.

If you have an apostrophe or other non-alphanumeric character in the data, it tends to cause problems with the Album titles.

For me this is a pain because I tend to save one song per album to a plpaylist. It’s weird when Slayer have ‘Abba’s Greatest Hits’ as an entry :)

Illustrating my comment above:

Track name  Artist name  Album  Playlist name  Type
Land of Confusion Katzenjammer A Kiss Before You Go _Covered in  Glory Playlist track
Black Sabbath Brownout A Kiss Before You Go _Covered in  Glory Playlist track
The Sound of Silence Disturbed A Kiss Before You Go _Covered in  Glory Playlist track
Eight Miles High Hüsker Dü A Kiss Before You Go _Covered in  Glory Playlist track
Makes No Difference Mekons A Kiss Before You Go _Covered in  Glory Playlist track

In the meantime it is possible to request a copy of your personal data from the Deezer support including your complete listening history in an Excel file, so I guess the community managers can declare this idea as implemented. 😉
