Gapless playback between tracks

There should be no gap between tracks running into each other. This is a basic thing for the listeners experience.

Thanks for reporting it @Placido09 @Tomasz Stecewicz

I believe this kind of stream with gapless will come once our desktop integration is done, but I'll forward your comments to our devs so that they know how this impacts you :thumbsup_tone2:

Seems Gapless is an endless feature, it’s really so difficult to implement this on the desktop app?
I used to work as a backend developer but for sure i touch some FE / Node code, did you have some info about where is the technical problem? Just to learn something or maybe find some idea , starting to work on a Full stack role in next months so i preview something :)
Thank you for the nice flac audio , love HIFI /HIEND listening :)

3 years later and there’s no gapless music? How do I do the fade thing? It says I’m not authorized to access this page with the explanation… :/

It’s silly to listen to new ASOT 1000 on desktop with 200 tracks = 200 gaps. Would you be kind to tell us the truth, if it’s gapless playback ever gonna be released?

Didn’t realise that play wouldn’t be gapless.

Deezer subscription cancelled.

I also have this “issue”.

To be perfect honest, it is really hard for me to understand that in 2021 this does not work (especially when using th “Hifi” tier).

It is really a pain to listen to “Promises” by Floating Points and Pharoah Sanders with The London Symphony Orchestra without gapless playback.

How can it be that this feature cannot be implemented?

Trying to listen to a DJ mix with 108 tracks in 100 minutes. Utterly impossible.

That's quite terrible... Maybe albums such as Ogdens' Nut Gone Flake, Tommy, Abbey Road, Queen II and Dark Side of the Moon shouldn't even be made available on Deezer, since we won't be able to listen to the music the way the artists intended. At least on Spotify they play seamlessly.

+1 request for eliminating the gaps between tracks.

Its annoying and erode the pleasure of HiFi music listening.

Win Desktop Deezer 4.34.10 app - playback is not continious in spite of listening to an Artist album which was released without gaps.

C’mon guys. Good-old CD Players and or WinAMP (rip) already solved this issue back in the ‘90ies..

How is this still a thing? I’m trying the service again after HiFi was added and the app looks really nice, the sound quality is really good as I’m fleeing away from Tidal’s MQA, the improvement is notable, but I get the horrible gap between songs even with downloaded tracks.
Try listening to Pink Floyd - Animals or Dream Theater - Six Degrees of Inner Turbulence with those horrible gaps.

It looks like the app is just not ready.

GAPLESS PLAYBACK DEEZER!!!

On LP/vinyl, you could visually see the separation between the songs, yet, it played gapless: Pink-Floyd albums, or “What’s going on”, live albums, etc…
Audio tapes … of course
Winamp in 2003 (with direct sound output) … gapless too

Deezer Hi-Fi in 2021 … unable ???

I just left tidal, but the lack of gapless playback might have me resubcribe. I listen to a lot of concerts.

I was looking to switch from Spotify and this is the only reason I did not. Cancelling the subscription until it is fixed.

Why not simply add a .5-1 second cross fade for gap-less playback. I heard cross fade being mentioned in this thread… It would seem like a simple approach to this?

This seems to be still an issue of the Windows Deezer App in 2022. It's unbelievable that you're still lacking such a basic functionality. Yes it does work on the Android App, but as I'm planning to use the upcoming Deezer Remote feature to control my windows media computer next to my amp, this issue really is a show stopper for me. Considering the potential quality increase by not having to use Bluetooth anymore for the connection I was even considering going back to a HiFi subscription. Unfortunately my promising thoughts about utalizing Deezer Remote are likely to fail over such an trivial feature missing.

Please Deezer, hire some developers and to increase your development pace.

New user here coming from Spotify after being fed up with Spotify HiFi being delayed. I must say the lack of gapless playback on the desktop is completely surprising. When comparing Tidal, Qobuz and Deezer I didn’t even think about it, so basic does the feature seem to me.

I’m glad it’s high on the list but here’s to hoping this will be ported from the mobile apps soon.

I am a new user. I'm old in general, and it's my first streaming platform too. I chose Deezer.
First impressions were good, very good. Until I got here ...
Besides listening to all the classic albums mentioned above, I also like listening to music / sounds for meditation ...
And guess what?

This one inconvenience (well, plus the lack of an equalizer) makes me rather go to the competition ...

Like many Deezer issues this one’s been ‘high on the list’ for as long as I’ve been a subscriber - 6 years this Sunday. My french is OK but clearly bientôt (soon) means something different across the pond than it does here.

I’ve seen this comment about the lack of an equalizer before and have always found it odd. The mobile apps do have an equalizer function while there are dozens of free equalizer apps available for pretty much any operating system that would help not only Deezer but every other app that makes sound. While it doesn’t help with gapless have you tried one of them?

Upvoting as well.

I made the switch back from Spotify (you know, Rogan...) and I am trying to convince friends and family. Lack of gapless play is the single most objection I heard. It’s terribly annoying when listening to live jazz albums, classical music and so forth.

You’re ignoring a growing customer base of not tech-savvy people that just go with the option they’ve heard about most often (that’s Spotify alas) and only switch if the experience is matched. And sad to say, this lack of gapless play makes them believe it doesn’t.

I think gapless is only available in the high fi plan.  Boo . Yeah there is a lot of basic features lacking from spotify. The queing system is bizzare sometimes you can queue some times not.

Adding another comment to the pile. This needs to be implemented in the web player asap. Such a basic feature.
