[Desktop app] Window title should display current song and artist

Hi,

it would be nice if the Windows desktop app title bar showed the currently playing song and artist. The same applies to the taskbar (unless its “Combine taskbar buttons” option is set to “Always, hide labels”).

Ideally, the format should be configurable with some string like “Deezer %A - %s” with placeholders %A = artist, %s = song title, %a = album title, %y = year, %% = literal percent, etc.

Thanks!

Hi there @gngg

I really like this idea. I'll be passing it on to our desktop app team and you already got my vote 😉 thank you for your support!

Is this really not a feature yet? That’s hilarious

Hey @marcusd ! Sorry about that, as @Rudi mentioned your idea has been forwarded to our desktop app team and hopefully this feature will be available soon :)

Updated idea status In discussionNot for now

I really wish this was a thing!

TIL a workaround: AudioBand does not mention any Deezer support, but its “Windows 10” audio source mostly works: artist, title, image, skip back, skip forward, play / pause.

These don’t work, but at least you can hide them (by setting profile to compact): progress, volume, shuffle, repeat.

BTW, Windows master volume can be controlled with another deskband: Volume Deskband.

it’s pretty funny to see these old requests with replies like “...your idea has been forwarded to our desktop app team and hopefully this feature will be available soon”, followed a year later by the topic being marked “not for now” - is the deezer team just literally one person or something?

fwiw, this functionality exists in the unofficial Linux app ( http://aur.archlinux.org/packages/deezer ) I use.
