Connect Deezer directly to Yamaha receiver not through MusicCast

Userlevel 2
Dear team,

I've just joint to use Deezer. Using applicatinon on the phone is super. When driving in the car it simply connects throuhg Bluetooth to car radio system. BUT when I'm at home our "music box" is Yamaha RX-V681 where selected net radio stations are prime source. But problems with radio stations are adds and other known limitations. So we tried Deezer but using though MusicCast it lost all beautiy that Deezer app is offering. Deezer through Music Cast is offering very basic functions and I noticed myself that we are again using rather netradio because is more simplier also.
So my suggestion is to add under My Connected Devices also possibility to add Yamaha receivers. Without this soultion me and similar users will be forced to cancel Deezer 😞

Hi there, I will pass this feedback on to the right team 😉

Hi Rafael,

Thanks. So arrange direct streaming from phone to Yamaha receivers and you will rock! 😉
If you stream through Bluetooth you will lose sound quality and Hi-Fi won't work sound channels on Bluetooth seems less DTS with Yamaha device.

I'm a new Deezer user and the app and service is superb. The issue is I stream 90% of the time through my Yamaha network player. This means I'm forced to use MusicCast which is dire and doesn't work. Is there not a way to add the network player directly and avoid MusicCast?

Hi there @Handydagger @Matej.Cehovin @Pliskin

Thank you very much for your support and feedback. We're working hard on improving our casting/stream options for quite some time, these are big projects. Hopefully we'll have updates soon 👍🏼

Great news

I just wanted to hop on and express my feelings on this as well. I agree here with the poster, and in fact I was just talking about this with my co-worker. I moved from Spotify to go to a more “HIFI” streaming solution. In spotify I can - directly from the app - stream anything I want, directly to my Yamaha and its great! However, there is no HIFI option in spotify. Tidal app also does not have this option. Both deezer and tidal are stuck in yamaha land using musiccast to stream any type of HIFI. With Tidal now integrating with Plex, this is a nice step forward (if you have plex) as I have a plex server. Problem with plex is that the Tidal option is not integrated on the roku app for plex, as it is on ”plex for web” which is unfortunate, as -- you guessed it - I have a roku Tv. The problem would be solved right there, and I would ride off into Tidal land with my premium HIFI and Movies/Tv etc right in Plex.

In the HIFI streaming market there is just two, Deezer, and Tidal, IMO. If deezer can stream to Yamaha directly from their app, in HIFI, thats a game over for me. I will gladly stay a Deezer HIFI member forever! There must be some technical limit with streaming HIFI from the app, like Spotify does, as no other music streaming service is doing it that way in HIFI. Tidal can only stream to chromecast from the app.

Rant over!

-Thanks

I'm currently using Spoyify. I had a Deezer test account and I loved it. Except… that I wasnt able to stream to my Yamaha gear directly from the app. That’s a showstopper for me. I will switch to Deezer the day that becomes possible.

That being said, is there any way I can get notified when streaming to Yamaha Musiccast becomes possible in Deezer?

Hi there @PEW

Thank you for your input and support! We'll pass your comments on so that it can be considered by our team of devs

Subscribe to the topic above, you'll get a notification in case of an update :thumbsup_tone2:

In the meantime, is your receiver compatible with Chromecast? We have a new integration which works superbly :nerd:

Hi @Rudi

My Yamaha Musiccast WXAD-10 does not support Chromecast. It does support DNLA.

Best regards, Pieter

Hey Pieter @PEW

Really glad to know that. DNLA and UPnP are on our list of integrations to develop but it's still early stages - before you say anything, we know we're behind on this.

According to our resources, we're unable to prioritise the development of these integrations right now - but things can change very quickly in the near future. So I'll certainly keep this topic updated for that effect. Thank you for your support so far :pray_tone2:

Same problem with my yamaha wxc-50 network player!

Can't stream directly from your mobile app which is good and user friendly, but I can't add this yamaha device.

I can only listen via bluetooth, but it is not the same quality.

Deezer via yamaha music cast app is total shit!

And I have this player almost two years, and you didn't solve that issue…

Btw, Spotify app works well and stream directly all the time...

Sorry about that @zeljko

Your feedback is very important and will be treated as such. I'll let the devs know once more that the support for this device integration is growing - thank you for your continuous support :v_tone2:

Hi,

I’m using the trial account and I can not cast on Yamaha RX-V685. there is no icon to the click and cast like spotify or other apps. if it is not simple to cast than it’s a big no for me.

It might be that your Yamaha doesn't have Chromecast built-in but supports DLNA or UPnP @AIC 1965 - we haven't implemented these integrations fully yet - please contribute with a vote here :v_tone2:

PLEASE improve user experience for MusicCast users. I love the sound quality, but finding the song I want is awful.

@Rudi, yes, Yamaha receivers don’t support Chromecast (at least yet - I figure it should be straightforward to implement support via software in a future update if they want… idk if they do, though). I have a chromecast ultra hooked up to it for all other streaming services the device doesn’t support, but I would like to use deezer via MusicCast directly so it integrates nicely with the receiver’s built in display (don’t want to burn my TV).

Juist come here because i am not satisfied with the way Deezer Works right now. Like alot of others i have a Yamaha wrc50 streamer/dac. So i use  Musiccast. That works fine for me. However, wheni push the Spotify button,  the original Spotify app opens up and we can enjoy Spotify's interface in all its glory. Not with Deezer unfortunatly. Now we must use Deezer directly from the Musiccast app, dull texture menus, less info and groups. Just plain ugly. Tidal suffers from this too.

So tell me, why do Tidal & Deezer do not work like Spotify with Musiccast? Do not tell me this is a technical issue; it is not! When can we enjoy your service to the fullest, like that is what we pay for?
