Your tracks, without gaps! - An enhanced iOS experience

We're currently bringing a must-have feature in gapless playback :metal_tone2:

Have you missed out? Please see here for more info :smirk:

For our HiFi users, the FLAC catalogue of tracks won't need any touches. But for our beloved Premium users, we'll need to work a bit harder…

MP3's will need some work called re-encoding, so that we can remove the gaps from the tracks, one by one. It's a tough task, so for our iOS users, we were able to develop a nice little tool to help. And that's where we need you :muscle_tone2:

Under your app settings, and in Deezer Labs, there's now a button to toggle the tool for MP3 tracks. This tool will apply gapless on MP3, without us having to re-encode the track:

Our iOS tool for MP3 gap extermination

If you're up for the challenge, we need to you to toggle the feature on :zap:

This is a work-in-progress one, so please be kind - give it a go and let us know how it works. We know it won't be perfect but without your feedback, it's harder to get there :nerd::ear_tone2:

In what iOS app version is this option available? I’m using 8.12.1.1 and it’s not in there. There’s no available update in the App Store. Thanks!

Here the same. I can only choose Sleep timer and Automodus in labs.
By the way, a (dirty) solution for me for gapless playback used to be setting crossfading on 1.5 sec. But crossfading isn’t working anymore...

Yeah, crossfading doesn’t work for me.

Hi @bokolobs @Mirokrijo

Thank you for your support! It's a progressive rollout, which means it'll get to you soon - you just need to wait a bit longer. I wanted to let you know in advance, so that you can welcome the feature first-hand

Thanks @Rudi ! Looking forward to seeing it.

Love this.  Can’t wait to have it in Desktop as well.

Any updates on when gapless playback will hit the macs? (my android phone already works… tres bien!)

Not yet @Ironback Jack we're also eagerly waiting for it but I know the right foundations are being put in place to make it happen :relaxed:

Great, thank you…. can’t wait!

Hi, looking for playing an album gapless, it works fine if I use my iPhone by itself or with Airpods, or directly in a Chromium based browser, but if I cast the audio to either a Google cast peripheral or an Airplay peripheral, then the issue of the gap between songs is back. Approximately 2 seconds on a Google cast, and 4 on an Airplay one.

Is there an option somewhere to manage that? Something that is in your planned improvements? It’s really an issue, I want to send the music to my home sound system.
