Women's Voices on Deezer - elevating women in the music industry

What's with all this purple?!

Today the world celebrates International Women's Day and Deezer has proudly launched an exciting collection named Women's Voices (click here) to mark the occasion - we're even dressed up for it!

You've got some top names like Birdy, Dua Lipa, Christine & the Queens - from Jorja Smith to YONAKA. All in this original collection, especially made for Deezer fans.

...and there's more!

Keep an eye on your homepage!

Deezer is launching a series of playlists to celebrate these superwomen in music, who worked beside top names in the industry like Jay-Z, Dua Lipa, Justin Bieber, Rihanna, and others: their producers, songwriters, musicians. Every woman will have their own playlist with known tracks in which they contributed to. Among the names highlighted we've got Tayla Parx, Julia Michaels, Diane Warren and WondaGurl.

Deezer advocates for women to turnaround being underrepresented in music - and you should take part!

SHARE your favourite female artist and tell us why, you'll get your own Women's Voices badge to celebrate in style.

I'll start with this super cool artist I've been listening to, Mahalia:
https://www.deezer.com/en/artist/1647553
She's been nominated for Brit awards in the past couple of years and with her jazzy-voice, it won't be long before she conquers the world!

She wrote her first song when she was 8 and signed a deal with a big record label at 13. Talented stuff :sunglasses:

One of mine is probably Madonna.

I grew up listening to her early stuff and she was a game changer at that time - fearless in my ways and pushing the boundaries.

Women’s Voices are important!

My favorite artist (that is a woman) is: Cyndi Lauper.

Only DJane… is deserved. DJ Anime my favourite women.

She’s Hardcore DJ. Should be front pages everywhere.

On Deezer at least.

My favorite artist (that is a woman) is: Cyndi Lauper.

Actually I have multiple: Gladys Night (& The Pips), Michael Jackson & Lady Gaga. I will have more in the future!

Even as a bloke myself, I was taken aback to see comments that we should “balance” playlists celebrating women artists with others celebrating men. Missing the point rather more than slightly, I think. I had to fight a string temptation to comment with some specific (and satirical) song suggestions for such a playlist: starting with “21st Century Schizoid Man” (King Crimson) and continuing via “Neanderthal Man” (Hotlegs), “My Ding-A-Ling” (Chuck Berry) and so on.

At least some of us guys appreciate an attempt like this to promote female artists. Well done, Deezer.

Doing this “Women’s Voices” thing is important!

She is my favorite contemporary jazz singer: Cecile!

An extraordinary artist.

My favourite female artists are Aretha Franklin, Gladys Night, Kylie Minogue, Lady Gaga and Jennifer Lopez.

How can I hide this section from homepage of my Deezer app?

They are my favorites but not in order: Norah Jones, Sade, Sia, Beyoncé, Tina Turner, Madonna, Lana Del Rey, and Édith Piaf
