Hi, I have just tried a walk with offline mode on the watch and AirPods Pro, great to be out without having to carry a phone.

I did notice that while playback was fine, the current current track information was not available in Now Playing. I had the Activity tracking my walk and the track info was not there, plus I tried the the Now Playing complication and again no track details.

Not a huge issue but would be nice seen sorted one day.

And you keep on testing nicely @gmcoates this is excellent!

It's the type of feedback our devs need to take further steps. All forwarded

I cannot download my entire playlist of Loved Tracks on Apple Watch SE. The download starts however it doesn’t get the entire playlist and it stops syncing, it happens to other playlists as well. Also, would be nice to be able to download albums and individual songs.

I suspect that the playlist would consume to much space on the watch. I had noticed similar when I tried to download so I created a smaller playlist and it downloaded fine.

I agree being able to download an album could be great but I did this by creating a playlist for it and downloading that on its own, this worked as it was a small playlist.  I suspect due to the limited size of the watch storage and screen making playlists on your phone that contain what you need was the way Deezer thought is should be used.

All Apple Watch SE models, GPS and LTE, feature 32GB of storage space for music and apps, up from 16GB in previous models.

Depending on your playlist it may be full.

I recommend to start with much smaller playlist to determine if that works.

If you need a list to test it out, check mine:

It should take 3-4 gigs only.

Thanks for sharing your tips with @Gabriel Alexandre, @gmcoates and @hpguru - this is the true spirit of our community

I'll also forward the feedback to our devs, as usual.

I have Deezer instead on my APPLE Watch Series 6 GPS+Cellular. It looks like the App is not using the cellular option. The only offline option is working. Basicaly it is not fully operational without phone.

The second issue is that I can't easily select my Bluetooth headphones connected directly to it. I can change destination devices.

We need to look into this a bit further @Maciej Nowak what's your Deezer app version?

Could you try switching your phone to airplane mode and try again?

If phone has airplane  mode or watch is not connected to phone only offline mode is working. It is not even able to use wi-fi. Need to have direct contact with the phone.

I’m using the newest versions

That's my point @Maciej Nowak

It's supposed to work without the phone, but correct me if I'm wrong. Could you try it out? And did you check the Deezer app version for me as well? It's supposed to use the cellular option if the watch isn't close to the phone.

Thank you for your support! :relaxed:

I have:

And when using cellular:

I’m also missing the destination audio device option in the watch app. Maybe this is the issue, watch do not know where to play. When I enable connection it is playing on phone I can't change it.

But offline works without any issues.

In the iPhone app, I have no option to play as a source watch - where Bluetooth headphones are connected

I've queried this with our devs @Maciej Nowak thanks for your patience, I'll let you know once they get back to me

In the iPhone app, I have no option to play as a source watch - where Bluetooth headphones are connected

All you really have to do is pair your headphones with the watch and you can hear the music that is on your watch.

Nothing needs to be set on the iPhone for this. Especially not in the watch app on the iPhone.

Or do I not understand the question?

Tip: If you want to really speed up the downloads, you should switch the iPhone to airplane mode. The Apple Watch must still be in the wifi.

@dee_dirk and @Rudi Yes but when music i playing how can I switch to other device. I have few devices at home and I would like to choose where music should be played. What I see I can’t find the this option now.

The other issue is that I can't find on watch collections. You have only offline and flow :/

@Maciej Nowak

If you want to play music on the watch, you'll need to download tracks first. Then you can use the offline function.

This only works with devices connected via Bluetooth. This means that you first have to select the corresponding device in the watch's Bluetooth settings. You can't find the option within Watch app because it doesn't exist.

Hello everyone.

Today I dealt with the Apple Watch again and did a download test. The result is very surprising.

The following question needs to be answered:

In which constellation do the downloads to the Apple Watch run fastest?

The following identical experimental setup:

  • Newly installed Apple Watch app (Beta 8.47.0.1)
  • first playlist 1 with 12 tracks is loaded
  • then playlist 2 with 9 tracks will be loaded

Round 1 with iPhone logged in to WLAN:

  • Playlist 1 takes 129 seconds
  • Playlist 2 takes 96 seconds

Round 2 with iPhone switched to flight mode, before downloading:

  • Playlist 1 takes 78 seconds (= 51 seconds less)
  • Playlist 2 takes 44 seconds (= 52 seconds less)

Round 3 with Bluetooth disabled on iPhone, before downloading:

  • Playlist 1 takes 25 seconds (= 104 seconds less than round 1 = minus 80%)
  • I don't need to test playlist 2 anymore… :astonished:

Conclusion:

Bluetooth slows down the entire download on the Apple Watch. Awesome. :scream:

Without Bluetooth, you can download the songs in a fifth(!) of the time.

That's impressive, @dee_dirk!! :scream:

Great testing though, maybe you want to create/update a tip thread about this?
