I'm about to get a new subscription on Deezer just to be able to play it on my alexa system.
I choose it in the alexa app but I can't play, because my (free) Deezer subscription doesn't support my echo device (according to Alexa)
Since I have been disappointed so many times by Amazon Echo, I don't trust it. Can someone confirm it works in the Netherlands on Echo?

Thanks!

@Danny R the info I have is that it's been available in the Netherlands since the 8th but I think someone from there could confirm to you if everything is working fine 🙂

Any dutches around? 🇳🇱

Hi, with the release of Deezer on Alexa, will this provide parental control of streaming music that many have been clamouring for? Thanks
Hi there, sorry, just saw your question. Do you mean in terms of explicit music or family accounts? It's not possible to switch to secondary profiles for Family accounts just yet.
Can you address the issue regarding playback in FLAC high bit rate. Obviously one of the USP's of using Deezer and Sonos together is a higher quality bitrate with FLAC. Which subscribers pay a premium for.

However, whilst I'm very happy with the capability to now play Deezer to Sonos through Amazon Echo. The problem is that the file that is streamed to Sonos when using voice integration is a lower bitrate.

Do Deezer intend working with Sonos and/or Amazon to enable Deezer HiFi to work correctly. Thus if I ask an Amazon Echo or indeed a Sonos One speaker to play from Deezer I will get the service I am subscribed to and pay for?

Hi there, thanks a lot for the feedback. I'm sure I've mentioned it before, but happy to say it again :)
The problem is that the alexa app does not support Deezer with Flac. And since you still need to control it through the Alexa app and not the Sonos app, it's nothing we can change right now.
But I've of course passed this feedback on already and hope this will change in the future! 🙏🏽
Ok, have set up Alexa as specified, Deezer is my default service and it works....a bit!!

If I ask for flow, it works....however if I ask for an artists album like Editors new album 'Violence' or Bon Jovi 'Crossroads' it does not find the album or plays a small portion of a track and then stops.

If I ask for "play music by Editors" it will play a shuffle version for a short period of time.

In addition, Alexa cannot find playlists!

So whats going on Deezer, I have seen many reviews for Alexa and Deezer and they are not good?

This is the age of advance technology, get yourselves sorted otherwise I will have to review my subscription service!!!

@alan.bruce.752 I moved your topic to this one, where we are gathering all the feedback about Alexa to forward to our developers. Take a look and check that some features, like requesting user created playlists, isn't available yet.
Is it possible to see somewhere, what the Roadmap for features to Alexa is? Just so dont ask for features, that are already on the Roadmap 🙂

@Morten Dall Great point! 🙂 We're happy to check with the team if there's anything we can already share. Nontheless, you are more than welcome to post all feature requests here. In case we will have any updates, we can directly repsond to the ones you mentioned 🙂
Sounds good.

Below are some that I think would be good (1 & 2 are by far the highest priority imo):

1) Play from the Deezer app and be able to send it to the different Echos or groups. Makes it at times easier to find a song/album and then send it to be played (you can look at how Spotify does this).

2) Furthermore would also be nice to pick up in the App, what you have started on the Alexa. I.e. you start playing an album on Alexa and then you would like to see what are being played and be able to change to another song in the album (again you can use Spotify as a reference)

3) Make it possible to make Deezer the default music service on US accounts.

4) I tried saying "Alexa play Ladies & Gentlemen by George Michael on Deezer" and it said it couldn't find it. I had to say "Alexa play the album Ladies & Gentlemen by George Michael on Deezer". Would be nice, if it would automatically also search albums.
I'm really disappointed by the lack of consideration that's gone into integrating Deezer and Alexa. There are simple things missing, as have been mentioned above:
1) The ability to play songs through the app. My wife wanted to listen to the album 'Music' by Madonna. Asking Alexa to "play the album 'Music' by Madonna" just caused it to play a random selection of songs by her. In some ways that's fair enough - it's a relatively confusing request. However, what I'd have done when I was using Spotify was go to the app, find the album I wanted, then select "Play on Amazon Echo" and it just worked. With Deezer I had to give up completely.
2) The ability to play playlists. One workaround I tried for the above issue was to add the album to a uniquely named playlist and play that. Nope. Alexa can't find Deezer playlists.
3) The songs being played on the Echo seem to be totally separate to the ones shown in the app. I can't hear a song playing, think "I wonder what song that is" and look at the app to find out. Or skip the track or...do anything.
4) The shuffle function is... not good. And that's an understatement. I just tried playing a random selection of songs by a particular artist (who I know has several albums and singles on Deezer) - it just played the same three songs over and over and over and over. That's no good at all. Especially when you can't queue songs in real-time, because the app doesn't speak to Alexa.
5) Playing a single song causes it to repeat over and over again. If I ask Alexa to play a song it's because I want to hear it once, not because I want it looped until the end of time. Nobody wants that. If that's a bug it needs fixing - if it's a feature it's a really terrible one.

I know it's early days for Deezer integrating with Alexa, but there's really basic stuff missing that's making it frustrating - nearly unusable. The things above should have been day one requirements. Having them 'on the roadmap' isn't really very helpful for those of us that wish to use the service today. Especially when there's no clarity around what is on the roadmap and when it will be released. I'd like to give Deezer the opportunity to make this work, but at this stage I'm *very* tempted to go back to Spotify because it just worked.
Early days I know and you have clearly stated what doesnt work yet with Deezer and echo so keep working on it and I'm sure it will improve. You do state that saying "Alexa - play my flow" makes Deezer play your Flow music. It doesn't on my set up. I managed to get it to play if I said "Play Deezer flow" but that has stopped now All that plays is a group called "Cali Flow Latino" what ever that is?
Issues such as playlists and choosing albums (Echo does not recognise album titles that you can get from the App manually ) instead of playing single tracks I assume are a priority for you to solve. Lets hope you get there soon.

@Morten Dall @T'Other Simon @ajp Hi there, Thanks a lot for the feedback, which is really important to us. We indeed pass every feedback on to the team and they are working on everything. It was already mentioned that when playing only one song, that one would play on loop, which users didn't like. This was already changed. And I expect that also the problems with asking to play Flow will be fixed really soon.

I'll keep you posted about any other updates 🙂
Recently been bought a sonos with Alexa been trying to get Deezer to play through the sonos but it won't so please help

Hi @Lesley.Wilson, is your Sonos already linked to Alexa?

"Open the Alexa app on your mobile device or go to the Alexa website on your computer. From the menu in the Alexa app, tap Skills. Search for Sonos and choose the Sonos skill. Tap Enable and sign-in to your Sonos account."
Any idea when we'll get family profile support? Until that works it's not much use to me, we all have echo's and I'm not having them mess up my playlists!

EDIT: Oh, it doesn't support playlists either? Damn 😞
Cant get my alexa to Connect with Deezer playlist now that I’ve subscribed and getting a message That says sign up to premium plus one month free trial which I have already and also to can’t get these are playlist or songs selected to play off-line having problems anyone help

Hi @Molson1234, your account is gratuit and only Premium subscribers are able to use Alexa. You said that you paid for an subscription, but I can't see any payment on your account. Please get in touch with our support team here and send them more details about the payment. They will be able to help you with that! 😉
Hi I have recently moved over to Deezer, I have the premium+ subscription. I have the app installed on my iPhone. I have also Deezer as my default music player on my amazon echos.

My question, when using the app on my phone I can search and browse music and play it on my phone but it won’t allow me to change the audio setting to my echo. I assumed my premium+ subscription would allow this. It use to work with my Spotify subscription.

Please help!

Hi there, you mean control the music on your echo via the app? That's not possible at the moment 😕
Please add a Functionality to send streams directly to Alexa via the App!
I have a new play one. I’ve linked deezer, Sonos & Alexa. I can play music via Alexa but not albums or playlists from my library.

Hey there, user created playlists are not supported (take a look above for a quick guide) but albums should be playing. Do you get an error message when you request an album?
I have Deezer linked to my Echo speaker and it works great with voice commands.

I'd like to use the phone app to choose music and have it played on the echo without having to read out the name to Alexa. I want to do this as I like browsing via the app to discover new music. Is there a 'play on echo' button somewhere?

Is this possible? I know I can use the Echo as a bluetooth speaker, so thats one option but is there a better way of doing this?
Thanks
