Joining Deezer Family has just become much easier

:bell: You can now add independent accounts to your Deezer Family :juggling_tone4:

Up until now, you had to create individual profiles for all your loved ones, so they can also enjoy life through Deezer.

But some of you wanted your own login details too, so that you all don't have to share the same email and password. Times change, right? Well, once more, the community has been heard and we're ready to take our Deezer Family experience to another level.

You now have the option to:

  • create your profiles the same way as before (particularly useful for kids profiles)
  • add an individual account to your Deezer Family - what you've been waiting for!

Welcome to Deezer Family '2.0' :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye: how does it work?

  • the Deezer Family subscription main account sends an invitation to an existing Deezer user
     
  • The user who received the invitation joins the Deezer Family subscription, but their account remains completely independent and private! Other members of the Deezer Family do not have access to it
     
  • Login is always done with their own credentials, and the new addition can easily continue to enjoy all the content from their own account
     
  • The connection to a variety of devices as a Deezer Family user is now a possibility
     
  • The number of Family members does not change: 5 profiles OR independent accounts can be linked to the subscription in addition to the main account

The requirements to join a Deezer Family account :white_check_mark:

  • The account to be added must be on our free subscription. If there's a paid subscription in place, you must cancel it and wait for the end of it
     
  • The main account and the guest account must be from the same country

Great, this should also allow family members to have their own Sharing preferences in the account settings, so this will e.g. enable an individual connection to their own Last.fm account. That way family members can now scrobble their own music to Last.fm and will not send their scrobbles to the admin’s Last.fm profile anymore, in case he has one and listens to different music than you. :wink:

I changed the official Deezer FAQ in the new Last.fm support forum accordingly:

Of course Deezer Family members can still use the workaround with the Web Scrobbler browser extension and the Deezer web player or external Android scrobbling apps described in this FAQ, e.g. to avoid some known issues with the internal Deezer scrobbling option, but it is not necessary anymore.


This sound awesome. However I have two questions:

 

  1. Can I “convert” a family profile which I previously created to their own independent account?
  2. Is it possible to not participate in the Family Mix?

Hello @blendkrasniqi, regarding your fist question, it’s not possible yet but the feature will be added soon, I’m also waiting for it :wink: As for the Family Mix, it’s unfortunately not possible.

Adding family mix would be very awsome to family plan
As for example you can go with your wife and kids to a trip in a car and family mix would fit nice


@Kyrylo Penzykov nice to hear :slight_smile: Family Mix is already a feature with the Family subscription, you can access it from the homepage, in the “Made for you” category, usually on the right.


Ciao...sono Mónia e ho appena scaricato Deezer per ascoltare musica...ma non riesco a salvare le canzoni e fare una cartellina a parte... così che quando voglio sentire un po' di musica vorrei poter aprire la mia cartellina con le mie canzoni preferite...qualcuno mi può aiutare?considerate che sono abbastanza testona con cose di tecnologia e telefono...help me please?😬😬😬

About your question, we don't have this feature yet… You can only download favorits playlist, general playlists and albums, but not organise them in folders.


I have a Deezer family plan and my children have Deezer Family profiles. I am trying to convert them to individual accounts.

I have been trying to follow instructions in Section III posted at https://support.deezer.com/hc/en-gb/articles/360007641517#h_01EK2WPX6J7F8ZV9NY3NR9GGSR

After selecting “ Set as independent account ” and typing my child’s Google account credentials, the Deezer web site created a brand new Deezer Free account instead of joining my child’s account into my family account and keeping all favorites, playlists, etc.

When I tried to repeat the procedure, I was given a message that my child’s Google email address is already associated with another Deezer account (the free account that was created for some reason). When I log in to the Deezer Free account and try to delete it, I get a message “We sent you an email”, but the email is never received.

In this case, the best thing to do is to contact our customer support team and one of our agents will be able to check both accounts in the system and sort it for you :relaxed:


I have followed the article on how to do this and linked my wife’s Google account but when she tries to log in on her mobile device with her Google account it comes up as an error.

On her account details page it doesn't confirm that her account is independent?

What am I doing wrong?

Hi @andys101 it might be the case that her email linked to the google account in already linked to an existing account on Deezer. Can you please check and then delete that account and then try again?

Does anyone know if it still works like the answer replied? My father has his own account with all his playlists, info, etc. and we would like to change our plan to the Family one. But we can’t do it with Deezer because one of us would not be able to use his account. Has Deezer changed that? We are considering going to Spotify, because it’s way easier, and each of us would have its own account.

yes it works with individual plans now able to be added to a Family Plan.  If you convert your own play to the Family Plan you’ll be able to invite your father via a link and his profile would be added to your family plan :)

I am currently  on someone  else’s family plan and wish to have my own account. I don’t want to have to start over, how do I separate my account from the family account?


How do you login to your account ? Do you have your own login details ? If so you should ask your Family admin account to disconnect you from the subscription and then just re subscribe to premium ( Or other plan if you wish)

@Noam Asulin  Yes I have an independent account on the family plan. I will talk to the account owner. @Jaime. I was hoping to not have to start a new account. I had to do this once already to get on the family account.
