Wrong language in some notifications (web app)

Hi all! Over the past few days, I’ve been seeing some notifications in the Deezer web app show up in the wrong language. Anyone else seeing this?

Specifically, my language is set to “English (us)”, but some of the system messages show up in French, such as confirming I’ve added tracks to my queue, or (ironically) the confirmation I’ve saved my language settings. I've confirmed my language is set as expected. So I assume this means the web app is not picking up my language setting for some reason. Note that I’m not seeing the same issue on Android; all prompts and system messages respect my language seeing.

I’ve attached a screenshot right after I added tracks to my queue, and you can see the notification in the top right is in French.

Any tips for what’s going on would be appreciated!

This seems to be fixed for me at least, thank you!

I need to learn French elsewhere from now

Hello @metalnut4, thank for letting us know. Could you try going to the settings and playing with the language settings, and eventually validate once more English (US)? Let us know if you still experience this issue afterwards.

Yes, some are in French now :joy:

I need to start learning… lessons booked. Finnish it should be.

It happened actually last night, which is a joke on it’s own.

Nothing is drunk, except my Deezer ;d Please fix him.

I can, but you need to wait a good time for this thing to pop out.

Is it coming when adding songs to playlist?

As you may know, I didn’t know French yet.

No, unfortunately it didn’t help.

I know Russian as well, they still push this in French, also when back to Finnish.

Error

He needs fix.

Not happened on Android, only in Web app in some parts.

Thanks for testing, we’ll forward that to our teams

Sorry, just seeing this now. I just went and tried changing my language to a couple different settings, and cycled back to English, and I’m still seeing the issue.

The weirdest part is that it’s only very specific messages that seem to ignore my setting. For example, I’d briefly thought it was fixed because clicking “Don’t recommend this track” gives me a message in English. But “Add to queue” is still in French, as is the confirmation text when I change my language.

As well clearing cache does not help in Web Browser. Bonne journée!

I tested as well and got similar issues. I sent a report to the teams, hope it’ll get fixed soon enough

Hello,

I’ve started seeing random areas of the deezer.com/uk website showing text in French text. This can vary from when creating a play list to account settings area.

Environment:

  • Windows 10 2004 UK English setup
  • Firefox 81.0
  • Cleared cache cookies > NG
  • Tried Edge > NG

Has anyone else started noticing this or similar issue? Any luck resolving?

Thanks

Good day.

This is known bug and is in the fix.

I hope this helps.

soo is anything going to happen or are you too much of a small indie company to fix languages?

I have the same problem

tried to report it and this happened :joy:

Hello all, our teams are currently looking into this. Thanks @hpguru for sharing the right topic

@sinwar I wouldn’t call Deezer a small indie company even if we’re not the biggest one by far, anyway I hope this will be resolved soon, I acknowledge it doesn’t give the best image of our service

@ItIsMeCall911 :joy:  I guess you chose the “Other” option?

Hey @Owenge

In what platform is this happening? Web? Desktop?

Please give us a few more details and let us know if you spotted when this changed. Thank you!

Hi @Rudi,

I have the issue in my iPhone 12 Pro Max (iOS). I really have no idea how and when it exactly changed. I checked the info in the app (see image) and that seems to be right   .

Deleting and reinstalling the app didn’t work, and that doesnt seem to be the problem because my e-mails are in a, for me not recognizable, language.

Let me know if I should provide more info.

Thanks🤙🏼

Thanks for coming back and for the details @Owenge

Could I also please have a screenshot of the emails and notifications?

Userlevel 1

Hi @Rudi

Hereby two screenshots of some e-mails I got. The notifications in the app, like banners are in dutch. Notifications I get on my phone from Deezer, are in the same different language.

I removed all of my notifications, so I don’t have a screenshot of a notification from the app, but I’ll add one as soon as I get one.

All my phone settings are in Dutch and the app itself is in Dutch as well.

Let me know if I should provide more info.

Thanks!

@Owenge Our team has come back to me to explain that your Deezer account language was set in Czech. We changed it back to Dutch so it should be fine.

However, just to be on the safe side, please change your password!
