Why is search so bad? The pictures are self-explanatory.

Search is very bad on Deezer.

It is better than YouTube Music. But it does not find sometimes when correct details. Especially nowadays I can not find most releases within it. I need to try extra hard to get there.

As well artist pages may not show all releases.

I’s really frustrating from music app.

I finally decided this month to leave Deezer and Now I stream elsewhere. Search works.

And so does everything else :)

I’ve been Deezer coustomer for 1 year and 3 months.

I’ll stay for the time being, despite the bugs. The Q sucks everywhere else. It’s either this or a disc every month or so… but this is a research tool. How do you find what you want? And then, one or two songs from a disc is pretty common, so… I don’t know. I was listening to Kenny Rogers’s album. “You can’t make old friends” and my speakers sounded muddy. But I tired listening to the .wav files on my own system. Night and day. So, I dunno. Sometimes good, sometime bad. Look for the Candace Recordings of the Everly Brothers. They’ve got to have it but how to find it???

@dgoorevitch I am sorry about that and I hope we can have a better search bar in the future that recognises misspellings as it happened to you (Rogers instead of Rodgers)
In the meantime you can vote and support the idea in the Community:

Thanks

Done.

@Jaime.

It's ridiculous that you except people to vote on poorly developed things, that Deezer should polish in the first place. Why should we thumbs up something, in order for you to work on it?

You guys are really out of touch with the customers. Absolutely ridiculous...

That’s not the right album. I’m talking about Ella, not Kenny (see head post).  I posted in the wrong place about the muddy Kenny Rogers albume. Different issu.

The thing is, even if it isn’t adapting to misspellings, you’d still expect the search to find a partial match.

Hello @Gaffer13 Thanks for your feedback!

You can usually find the song, artist, playlists, etc. you are looking for by typing usually the first word or first letters of the name of your favourite artist, song, playlists, etc.

They will probably come up sorted by most common or most famous search by users.

I’ve found out that on the web browser/desktop version, you can have more range/options of results.

Enjoy Deezer!! :flashlight:

Why “usually?” That’s not a first-rate search engine. It’s just plain bad. Every song, album, and artist should be cross-referenced. This is amateurish. Now I see why things don’t improve. You folks seem to pretend that problems aren’t problems. That’s the way to stop growing. But maybe you’re bait and trying to get bought out by the big fish. I don’t pretend to know the biz plan.

You were saying? This album was a LOT of work to find. Very inconvenient and it happens to me a lot.

Deezer employees are definitely very talented when it comes to upsetting their customers.

But let me tell you this, no matter how often you share your frustrations, report bugs, or post ideas, they don't care. Deezer really doesn't care, because they don't appreciate their customers.

The only way that we as customers can hurt Deezer, and force them to work, is with our wallet. I just recently cancelled my HiFi subscription (way too late) after reporting a major bug which they created in the first place, and which is extremely bothering me.

So after being extremely patient with them, and contacting them on every platform and letting them know about the bug, I finally decided to quit until it gets fixed, because it makes Deezer unusable for me.

If you really want to show them how dissatisfied you are just cancel your subscription. Otherwise you will keep paying them even if they don't deserve it.

It looks like they are understaffed. That could be for a lot of reasons. Generally, we see a tendency to gravitate to a two giant system. Maybe Deezer is bait for a giant. It wouldn't make sense for them to add too much value if that's the case. So, for me the choice is this or Tidal for now. We will see whether or not Spotify sees value in Hi-fi and if so, who they will lunch on.

They are understaffed. They probably have not enough subscription fees to allow more staff.

The fact that they also need to pay taxes and musicians, they are in real trouble.

The only benefit of Deezer Hi Fi. Tidal has it pricier, now Qobuz too cheap. Also Spotify announced arriving with Hi Fi in selected markets to the land where they will be free to do so. Very promising.

I too was working to report content bugs, app bugs, now I just listening music :)

I found Samsung gave a trail with my year old A40 phone for 3mo to Spotify, and when I understand not everyone is liking them, at least I can enjoy my music without working for them reporting bugs or content issues. I didn’t see ANY messed tags Deezer is full of. These alone makes searching bad.

I was Legends before and they removed me from program just because I said it straight. I was so tired with empty words we will work, I will send about to team. These words are nice, but if nothing happens, customers are at loss. I’d recommend canceling as well if that’s what you need to do.

I already canceled mine, ends the end of this year.

They gave me 6 mo FREE legends price and honestly I didn’t want to use it even for FREE.

These bugs are getting on my nerves, so I do not use Deezer anymore.

Hi.

The search is indeed poor.

You need to be exact. If there is “mdma” or “mdma mazing” or “mdmamazin” it won’t find.

I can’t understand why it wouldn't find track with mdma on Deezer.

Search needs lots of work to be useful, thanks.

Hey @hpguru yes we are aware of this, but the team has been working on it and you should be able to see improvements very soon

Nice to hear, I hope it gets reasonable in search.

Right now it is time consuming to update lists for Deezer users. Because of search.

@Yula Any update regarding search functions? Search results are still terrible.
