Why can I not rewind a track in flow

Sometimes I would just like to listen a track from the beginning or go back a song in my personal Flow, but I cannot. Is there a reason? I have a premium+ account with my phone carrier.

Is it also not showing when you unlock the screen?

Great news! The feature was added in the last update, thanks guys :)

I am curious, the feature was in the regular development cycle or my feature request accelerated the process?

In any case, thanks a lot!

It is make sense because FLOW is meant to shuffle songs . It doesn't play the songs in specific order so every song is pull out randomly , therefore you can't go back . If you want you can Shuffle all your favorites and there , you will be able to backward
Userlevel 1
no that does not make sense. you can shuffle the music and still be able to repeat a music or go to the previous one you liked! when I drive I cannot play with a small jauge to go back to the beginning of a song.
for me this thing is so frustrating that I think i will switch to the competitor in 3 months if deezer don't include this obvious functionality!

Have you added the suggestion to the ideas board?
Userlevel 1
nope, there are deezer people paid to find ideas, my feedback is already valuable, I hope there is a deezer community manager that reads the comments.

I don't think this behaviour makes sense either. If I click on the queue button it tells me what it has played since Flow started and I can restart a track from there so there's no good reason why it shouldn't be able to go back through the history if I want. Your reasoning does make sense if I wanted to go forward again though.
I think I will go to other service. I thought this problem is part of the limitations of free account.
I did subscribe to a premium only because I want to be able go back.
I guess I'm cancelling the subscription and try other provider.

Hi there, sorry about that. It is not possible to go back on the Flow, this is how the feature is designed I am afraid.

Sorry if you do not like it. We hope to welcome you back in the future!
We must get this option. Sometimes while driving the song on Flow is SO GOOD I want to hear it again, without making it favorite or putting my finger on the progress bar on 00:01 because that would endanger my driving safety

@alex869 agreed, it would be very convenient especially in a case like this. This is however possible with the new Flow Tabs now, perhaps an alternative that works for you? 🙂
Sometimes, i would love to go back an song on the flow, but Deezer won't let me.
So, if i want to go banck an song, i have to open the list of last played songs, click on the artist, search the song and then play it.

It seems to be so simple to just play previous, but it's not possible.
Why?

@unique_username I moved your question to this topic, as it was already explained here 🙂

@Anja @Flo.Deezer I am sorry but answering to the community "this is how the feature is designed" is not really helping, although it has the merit to be honest. I think you should consider the feature because for people who do not want to go back in Flow, adding this feature won't change anything about how they use Deezer, whereas people who do want to go back in Flow (like me), this will be a game changer and drastically improve their user experience. I work in software development and I understand that keeping an entire history of the songs that have been played in Flow is not feasible, however, allowing only even 10 songs history would already be super nice.

Anyway, thanks for your great work, I know you are doing your best to improve Deezer 🙂

Hi there, I see what you mean and I agree with you 🙂 It's just that as mentioned, Flow is not designed the way a playlist is, but it's a random selection of songs based on your listening behaviour. And it's not that we don't pass your feedback on to the team, but changing this would require a massive technical effort by our team and would probably take a while as our resources are limited. Meaning for now there are no plans to change this, but never say never :)
You'll be the first one to know, should we have any updates about this 🙂
Hi,
I have a premium account and for some reason, the back button doesn't work (see attached pic) on Flow playlist. Is it because it's the Flow and not a playlist I created?

@einatbs check this post for more information on this mysterious, disabled back button 👻
  1. On W10 client there is no possibility (on iOS also) to play again track that was chosen by Flow, or to skip back to one that was bypassed by mistake.
  2. Adding songs to Flow playlist - If somebody does not want to stop current Flow, and wants to listen to single song that has in mind, he should be able to 'add it as next song' to the Flow list.
If your developers can't implement back button behavior in flow, add button to save all current flow history to playlist. Not having such simple feature is very silly.

Thanks for the feedback, we will pass it on to our devs 😉
It is a playlist, though. The Queue List that shows your Just Heard songs is right there. It just offers no way to engage those song, short of showing the artist and song name.

another vote for this, seems odd to not be there, plus sometimes it shows a song is gonna play then skips it, what if i wanted to listen to that song, im now forced to go hunt it down and play it manually and break my "flow", pointless restriction.

I vote for this too! I use my Flow a lot and would be great to quickly go back to the previous song played! 🙂 We will keep passing this feedback on to our devs, but in the meantime, to find the song that was already played, please go to the listening history.
+1 here. At least "back" button should rewind to current song's start. But would be really nice to have normal rewind to a previous song as well.
Please open the source code, I will implement this functionality for free. 🙂
Why the hell it's marked as "solved"?
The answer for "why i can't?" in a manner "because you can't" is not a solution.

Because the flow was built like this, to alway discover new music. The listened songs can be found on your historic. 🙂

The music service is good but the application is very lacking, especially when you compare it to competitors such as Spotify.

There is no sense that I can't even restart the song in "flow" let alone go back to the previous one, when the history list of the songs are available and can be seen but not "clickable".

If I wanted to listen to radio, I would have opened FM.

Not OK guys..
