Songs that are taken down from Deezer.

Hi,

I couldn't find a similar post. Every now and then a song can be taken down from deezer whether it is due to problems with agreements or copyright etc.

The problem is that when the song is taken down, it just disappears from the playlists or favourites you saved it in.

I find it to be problematic because I save a lot of songs to create a personal musical library in order not to forget a song I loved in the future. And of course I don't remember all of the songs I save.

When a song just disappears without a trace from the app, it will be lost from "my memory" and I may never notice or remember it again.

I suggest maybe deleting the song from the artists page but leaving the title of the song in the playlists/favorite tracks of the app users. Just with a different color. And when you press the title it will pop up a notification that the song was taken down.

The user then will be able to delete the song title from the playlist/favorite tracks if he wishes.

If it is too elaborate to leave all the titles, maybe  just give an option to recieve a notification when a song you saved  is removed from the app.

In my Deezer app settings it can be checked to show unavailable tracks, by default hidden.

When a song lost copyright license or isn’t available, it appears in grey color, next to the title there is an icon to replace with another from other album. What they could do is notify you that one or more songs aren’t available for the moment.

I Would Recommend Uploading Those Tracks To My Mp3s.
Like You Said Make Those Tracks Metadata Still Be There...To Remember Those Songs..

Hi there @avital goldin

Thanks a lot for the feedback. The problem with that is the distributors may reintroduce the tracks at some point, because they're the ones with control over them in our platform.

In any case, your comments are duly noted :thumbsup_tone2:

Did you mean it as a suggestion or is it the way it is on the app? Because I Dont have that option. In my version of the app (it is up to date) the song just disappears. It does not appear in grey color.

But even then, is it a problem to send a notification to the user that a song he saved was taken down from the app? And maybe add in the settings the option for the user to choose if he wants to recieve  those notifications.
