Search engine must cross-reference composers

Monteverdi was a great composer. But when I want to listen and type Monteverdi in the search bar I only get "Monteverdi Choir." You must fix your search engine to cross-reference composers. When I type in "Monteverdi," I should see everything Monteverdi ever wrote. No one can remember who played what piece by Monteverdi and there are new albums and artists playing that music all the time. It is literally impossible to know who they are.

This search engine must be fixed.

Hello there @dgoorevitch

It’s true that the referencing of classical music is an issue that has been raised a lot.

I agree with you and it’s a project that is in discussion within our teams!

Maybe adding “Claudio” to “Monteverdi” shows more relevant results. By the way, all streaming sites have this problem when searching for composers of classical music. If you are looking for a specific performance, you might find the album by searching for the performer instead, e.g. the conductor or the orchestra or singer.

Improving the site search in that regard is of course a good idea, e.g. Apple Music bought the specialised classical music site Primephonic last year and wants to come up with an own app based on their GUI and search algorithms this year.

What if the person searching doesn’t know Monteverdi’s last name. Search Monteverdi in any search engine. That’s what should happen.

This is exactly what I don’t want. What if I don’t know the composer’s first name. More importantly, I don’t know the performers, soloists, orchestras and conductors and that is how they are listed. That was the whole point of my post. They should be cross-referenced. How many other sites are like this is irrelevant. Google’s search engine isn’t like that. And if I type Harry Lauder into Google, I’ll get refferals to songs. But here, if I happen to be such a lowlife as doesn’t know SIR Harry was knighted… well, be off with ye, peasant! It’s absurd.
