Problem with search in Deezer web version and special characters

When i try to type “f# a# infinity” in the search bar and then submit, only “f” appears in the input and in the search request. At the same time, a complete line remains in the query history.

Maybe there are problems with the processing of special characters?

(sorry for my english)

Hello @Timut, thank you for the feedback. I’ve tried on my side and got the same result. I will forward this to our teams, it’s indeed most certainly due to the processing of special characters as you mentioned.

Have a nice day

Another example: https://www.deezer.com/en/album/52068242?source=omni

Album's title is “#000000 & #FFFFFF”.

Hey @AlexWayfer

That's exactly the title of the album.

Check this here

Hey. I understand. I know it. I mean… I can’t find it in Deezer via the search. Like https://www.deezer.com/tags/000000%20&%20FFFFFF

Feedback noted @AlexWayfer!

I've tried searching for it like this: '00000 &' (not even with all zeros) and it worked :thumbsup_tone2:

Another example, with dots:

https://www.deezer.com/search/destruction%20kitty — no result.

https://www.deezer.com/search/destruction%20mr.kitty/track — here it’s.

Another example, forgot to write this: some services provide track name with `—` (long dash, em dash) as separator between artist and track names.

https://www.deezer.com/search/Jutr%C3%B8%20%E2%80%94%20Travva — no results.

https://www.deezer.com/search/Jutr%C3%B8%20Travva/track — here it is.

https://www.deezer.com/search/Jutr%C3%B8%20-%20Travva/track — or even with hyphen, which is technically less correct as separator in this case.

Also please notice `–` (en dash, middle dash). I didn’t see it as track name separator, but people can make mistakes.

Related to my report: somewhy there are results for this search: https://www.deezer.com/search/Irrepressibles%20%E2%80%94%20In%20This%20Shirt/lyrics

But I see no long dashes there and also (obviously) I see no related results.

Thanks, @AlexWayfer

Do you find the tracks without the long dash? Do the results connect somehow?

Thanks, @AlexWayfer

Of course, you even can check it by yourself.

BTW, here my results with the long dash:

They’re weird: I see no “This”, “Shirt” or all more so “Irrepressibles” in the results. I guess, there should not be such results.

But without the long dash everything is OK:

Great, that's better to report @AlexWayfer hopefully our Search teams can add some more improvements this year and this will definitely help :fingers_crossed_tone2:

Another similar error (but with 170 results 😱):

https://www.deezer.com/search/Son%20Lux%20%E2%80%94%20Let%20Me%20Follow/lyrics

Without long dash: https://www.deezer.com/search/Son%20Lux%20Let%20Me%20Follow

Now I know that it’s “Lyrics matches”, and even only now I’ve noticed this title for results with long dash. It seems correct, but not too noticeable. I suggest to add something like “Nothing” or “Zero results” above with a title like “Direct matches” (or “Tracks”).
