Playlist not syncing to mobile

Userlevel 3
Hi,

I recently created a playlist in the browser, and then downloaded it on my phone, I then modified the playlist in the browser again (and by modified I mean move the positions of the songs), but nothing has updated on the phone, it's been multiple hours too...
When I try to modify the track order on mobile I just get 'Unable to edit the playlist.'
Does it have anything to do with being on mobile data?

I solved it by deleting a song from the playlist, this then caused the playlist to update itself and order the songs correctly in the same order as in the browser, I then re-added the song. Shouldn't it do this automatically?

Yes it should, you just have to give it some time sometimes or reload the app 😉

Doesn't work for me, Android app seems to update completely at random, often taking days. I've gone to the extent of rebooting the phone, killing all the apps etc.

Its a major irritation. The Windows app has a refresh option, how hard would it be to add it to the android one?

Thats a pretty appalling solution to a very basic app issue.

HI @blackpaw I am sorry if you did not like my answer, but depending on the device you are using it just sometimes takes a bit to update. We do not have other users complaining about this. It should not take 3 days to update, that is not what I meant.

Which version of the app d you have installed?

Hi @blackpaw which device do you have?

Same problem here. Latest beta on LG G4 with Android N.
I added a bunch of songs to a playlist in the browser, but the newly added songs don't show up in the Android App.
I can kill the app but it does not help.

It is a playlist marked as available offline, so maybe the issue is linked to this.

I can confirm that removing a song from the playlist in the App forced it to update.

Thanks @thewildman

I'll be passing the feedback on.

I have the same problem. I cleaned up my favorites list on the PC app, but those changes haven't been synced with the android app.

What's with that?

Hey @Captain_Eric

Have you tried clearing the app's cache and logging out and back in again to see if it helps?

Still have this issue. So, after 9 months, this issue still persists? I reboot my app and even my phone. Still not working.

Man… I wish Deezer can be as good as Spotify. That app syncs perfectly with all my devices without any issue.

Hi @alzea.arafat thanks for getting in touch. This is a super old topic and millions of users don’t have this problem. Let’s fix it for you as well

Sorry to hear that you are experiencing this issue. I just checked your Deezer Hifi account and everything looks fine in our system. For better understanding, can you please answer the following questions?

  • Have you synced your playlists using good Wifi?
  • Have you tried to log out and log in again with the email address?
  • What is the brand and model of the device you are having problems with?
  • Which Operating System Version (Android, iOS, Windows) do you have installed?
  • Which Deezer version do you have installed?

As soon as I have your replies, I can help you further.

I had the same issue.

Once I logged out from both accounts in mobile and desktop, when I re-logged the playlists were synchronized on both.

FYI, Closing the app is not enough, you must LOG-OUT from both.

Hi @Konstantinos Yeah Yeah Yeah thank you for helping other users with the same problem. It is not necessary to logout on devices in order to synchronise playlists on different devices - most important is a good Wifi connection. However, your tipp helps in case it still does not synchronise then, so thank you

FYI I am also seeing this issue crop up, would it be too much to ask for a button somewhere in the options menu to forcibly sync playlists rather than just hope for the playlist wizard to wake up from his nap and sync properly?

Hello @tsoup, what have you noticed, new titles not being added or the order of playlist being different from one device to the other?

Sync simply doesn't exist. This is general bug on Deezer site.

Appreciate your feedback @p0k314 the button is definitely a good suggestion, we'll forward it on :v_tone2:

Having the same problem today (mobile app playlist not in sync with my playlist from my computer), even after deleting the cache and using good wifi.

We need that “(force) sync” button.

We need that “(force) sync” button.

Force sync is available on mobile app.

Open a list and swipe down once or twice, it will update.

As well you might to try closing app and opening it to make it finally update.

The Deezer devs are aware of many bugs on Android and they are working around the clock to make Android app as bug free as possible this year long. Stay for a while to see it yourself, thanks.

Thank you !

I just did the “add or delete track” (from mobile phone) trick to force the playlist update and it worked.

I had no clue about this swiping thing triggering the update.

I am happy it worked.

It’s a workaround sure, but the Android team is working hard to fix these pesky bugs. Just give them time, Deezer is getting better, this is why when updated you may not see as much new features to see. They are working in the background, in the machine, to fix all the bugs we may have. Thanks :)

This worked for me.  The Android version was not synching with the Windows desktop version.  I logged out of both (first the Windows, as it is the “master” playlist), and finally the Android version synched with Windows.  This is important because I see no way of deleting playlist items except in the Windows version.  I can remove from a queue in Android, but not from a playlist.
