Hi devs, @Yula and @Jaime. and legends,

I see in another thread that gapless has been postponed while the devs work on other features first. Are you able to say if crossfade is being actively worked on now, or has it been postponed as well?

Last year when Rudi was still around, it was generally known that the devs were putting their efforts into the android app and fixing bugs. Are you able to tell the community if this is still carrying on in this new year, or able to say what else has taken its place? I understand there are some things that can’t be said of course, but it would be good to have an indication of things, to provide hope to people looking for improvements.

Thanks

Z

Hey @Zayn-T! Omg :face_palm_tone4:  Sorry for the late reply, this message slipped me.

Are you referring to gapless on android?

Hi @Yula , no worries :grinning: . It was more a general question. Last year it was known  that it would be a bug fixing year (from when Rudi was around and from the legends), and a lot of time spent on getting the android up to parity with iOS. As I said originally, I understand that things are limited sometimes by what you can say, but it’d be interesting to know where the priorities are at the moment, in the same way we knew about 2021 as the bug fixing year.

Personally I’d love to know how the development of crossfade is doing as it was having to be started from scratch for android (and windows too?). I hope Deezer will continue to be as open as possible to make this (and the other language communities) an interesting and involved place to be, rather than purely users troubleshooting their issues and getting help. That would then be like any other streaming service rather than a community.

Hey there @Zayn-T, yes I think you are right!

Next week we’ll meet up with our Product team and discuss this and I’ll get back to you with our plans for 2022.

Crossfade is currently available on Labs for Android but I think for the moment their are not going to progress on this.

Anyways, next week I will have more and clearer information to share!

Thanks for your patience and interest :hugging:
