Is Deezer Hi-Fi actually lossless audio?

I have been using Deezer Hifi for a few days now. Coming over from Tidal Masters.

I also use Deezer with SONOS system which has recently been updated to S2.

One thing Tidal would do is always show what format the track is playing and if it was available with Master then it would turn gold at the bottom .

What I am finding with Deezer is, apparently everything is in Hi Fi quality.

To look into this further, I also found some music uploaded on Deezer which has clearly been converted from YouTube and not uploaded by the artist (you can hear the music video version of the song.) But according to Deezer this is “Hifi” or “Flac” format which appears on the SONOS app.

This has made me very suspicious and I dont think I will be continuing to use Deezer Hi-Fi after the trial period.

Has anyone else found this to be true?

This needs to be said because if Deezer are trying to charge people £20 a month and marking everything as Hi-Fi then it just shows how much they do not care for good a quality audio offering.

Hi @lionorder

HiFi is FLAC / lossless :)

I know the music that Deezer provides is provided by the label - not the artist etc. so I doubt there would be any from youtube - could you give us an example of a track?

Also Deezer have reduced the cost of HiFi to £14.99 I believe so hopefully your next month will be lower :)

I hope this helps :)
