I've just hit my 2000 fav limit on Deezer. What should I do now?

Hey, just found out there’s a limit on how many songs you can like, and 2000 is an absolute maximum.

Being unable to press that sweet heart button to a songs I like feels quite uncomfortable, and seems like there’s no obvious solution to a regular Deezer user.

1/ There are some ancient posts begging to increase the limit – no effect till this day. Seems like waiting game is not particularly fruitful

2/ Spotify have the liked songs limit too. It’s 10k tracks in their case, but nevertheless there will be a day when I hit that wall if I ever move there.

What are my options regarding this issue? Like function and favourites tracklist is essential for my listening habits, so

Should I wait for a Deezer developers team to do smth about this or should I migrate to a service without such limitations?

Thanks!

Good day.

What should you do now? You already did, posting feedback for the firm.

I registered for Deezer Premium past summer and I am aware of this limit.

I will hit it in next year for sure. I like music either because I like it, it sounds good, or I want to come back later easily for it. Limit like this is bad, I can not like 2000 or more. Have you tried to like only best tracks? I tried, on Google Music with their 1000 limit, and I was not able to remember or find tracks I should to like. But I didn’t because of this limit. Who knows which these tracks are, now when I can not remember them. My honest opinion is, they should remove limits all together.

Many streaming servers, and Deezer is one of them, are too limited on library, lists and likes. I am true music lover and liking music is my passion. It feels good to listen all the likes in the shuffle.

I’ve lost my faith in Google Music, but Deezer’s 2000 is not much bigger, than 1000 on Google.

Perhaps they can hurry up the developers responsible for these limits?

One said, and he is working for this firm, is that they are finding ways not to make Deezer slower for people who do not like that much or like it all with true faith for the music. I expect them to do this in one year, but of course, as you may agree -- the sooner, the better. Enjoy your time of a day.

One day we hopefully can show what is the true love for our favourite scene in the music.

Hint for a Deezer: Christmas is coming, perhaps gift for us? ;d

Hey @Kirill.Nechesa @hpguru

Hang tight, this is one of our priorities at the moment

Thank you for your support!

Hello. I want to draw your attention to the fact that after I marked 2000 "I like" tracks, it became no longer possible to add songs to favorites. It turns out that the application has ended. And adding to other playlists without a like, while listening to Flow, I can't know if I've heard this song before. And if you press "Shuffle my music", then there is no button "Play next" and opens only 50-60 songs, and then reloads. And on the website via a PC it doesn't even load ... It's not very comfortable! I like everything else in the app. But because of this I have to cancel the subscription, because it turns out that I can no longer like new songs. I would be glad to come back if the restriction was removed. At least on a Premium account. Is this possible? Thanks.

Final Countdown hard dance mix 2020 was my like 1 318… 682 likes away to hit the limit!

You still have some time, Deezer.

Please make solving this TOP priority, this is unacceptable for a music app!

App which is desgined for music lovers from music lovers.

You can not like  more music if you liked 2000 tracks unless you delete some.

Nice to hear. I would go away from spotify if this limit is away! I really like the recommendations here on deezer! It is one of the best services in my opinion!

I hope they are really working on it.

I sat yesterday listening hands up dance core classics. So much I liked.

Playlists updated. I liked about 40 tracks yesterday alone.

This was one of them:

How not to like, even knowing that each like is closer to limit?

Liked tracks now 1438.

Technically The limit could be removed or substantially  raised tomorrow off course. But the folks from Deezer choose to ignore their clients wish/agony and reside to ‘this has our top priority’ the past years and the years  to come.

You know the only thing that really helps you; find a better providing streaming service and switch.

I tried them all from Google Music (discontinued) to Yandex Music.

None of them satisfying, even Deezer does not fully, but is by far the best UI.

They are going to in crease it in 2021 for sure. No long wait anymore.

Liked tracks now 1,632.

I hope so with you.
What prompted me to bitch about it was that I heard this Deezer promise couple of years ago already. Nothing happened.

Deezer indeed is high on the list in comparison.

All in all the streaming pro’s/cons makes me rethink the strategy I could deploy.

  • the artists should be paid a more decent amount then the streamer services do at the moment. the services can monetize on creative output only coz they have tech knowhow
  • If you want better quality audio the fee is doubled
  • still, you don’t have ALL music available
  • the only (but very nice yeah) unique feature services bring is the ways they have discovering new music based on what your online library holds already

So use a budget service if you want to discover stuff, and moreover, create a Plex server with all the music you love already, filled with tracks which you paid the artist a better wage more direct for, and stream high res EVERYTHING you came to love over the years.

Very nice. 😋

OK, you need a solid cellular dataplan too. But you should anyway, because it’s a generic service for ALL kinds of online work/play.

John Darko audiophile videocaster talks very nice about his setup. Search YouTube for Darko.audio, and on that channel ‘Plex’.

It is frustrating, indeed. They had it for years on to-do.

2021 for Deezer will be less new and more of old :: improved a lot.

One of their aim is finally increase all limits without affecting users. They do not want to increase it without making sure app will work fast and smooth. As well they will improve current features.

In my believe they are going to release limit increase in next months.

I hope it is worth waiting. Thank you for staying around.

Hey @Gerry Veerman

Thanks for the feedback.

Yes, any app can "lift" limits, that isn't the point here.

We can't compromise on performance, and that's why it takes time to develop higher limits with better quality. Like @hpguru said, thank you for sticking around, we'll have news about this soon.

Happy New Year!

Hello everyone!

Same here. Reached 2000 yesterday. Contacted support via FB and got an answer today:  to make playlist with those 2000 tracks and start disliking the whole favorites. Very fast and comfortable solution to unmark 2000 tracks.

After some filtering, now I have 1948 favorite tracks. But I will reach 2000 again very soon - in 1-2 month’s.

Hope there will be another solution already.

Sorry to hear that.

I am myself 7 month customer annual, and 1702 liked tracks now.

I can say you, that limit will be increased, but not removed. So unlimited is probably not what will happen. However increase will be big enough  for us. I could thing limit will be “in years to reach”.

We will see what limit will be, it just needs waiting, it’s around I guess.

In these years they probably will improve app performance further which will allow new increase.

@hpguru is right, we're almost there!

Our teams have been working on this for months now, so before you lock those 2000 tracks again, we should have something more tangible for you. Please stay tuned to the community!

Until they increase the limit, you can add songs to playlists. What i do is to create playlists that starts with ! to be at the top, and then followed by the first two letters.

For example, dancing in the moonlight goes to !da playlist. Each playlist can have up to 2000 songs, so in this case, 2000 songs that starts with da…. For now, i haven’t completed any of those playlists. Is true that some playlists have more songs that others, but under 2000 limit for now.

No way. I don’t use such crappy solutions, when there is other services around. Still rooting for Deezer. 1650 loved tracks, as of now.

No problem @Александр Линдоренко, with the number you have now, it's likely we'll have a new limit before you get to 2000
