Our HiFi sound quality is now mobile! You may have already noticed that our updated apps are allowing HiFi subscribers to stream in FLAC quality on Web Player, Mobile iOS & Android, and Xbox.

You can also download the tracks in the same format. This can be set up in your Settings > Audio Settings > Custom settings

We're committed to providing HiFi users with a seamless experience on all platforms.

You can now listen to the best of our immense FLAC catalogue on the go. It's also easier to identify which tracks are available in high-fidelity, with a HiFi sticker right on top of it. With over 52 million tracks in FLAC, there's no excuse: get your headphones and take HiFi with you, wherever you go.

Note: Version iOS 8.1.0 and Android 6.1.14 are required to listen to FLAC quality on the go. Users require headphones that support FLAC quality.

My app is showing version 6.1.14.99 so if I upgrade to hifi I will be able to access higher (CE) quality?

Whatever CE means, but yes, with a HiFi account you can listen to lossless FLAC streams on your Android phone now. At the moment you should have HQ as the highest available quality which means 320kbps MP3 streams.

CD, you have obviously never had problems with autocorrect!

Right, I always disable it.  Yes, the FLAC streams have CD specs, i.e. 44.1khz sample rate and 16bit bit depth. There is no higher resolution available on Deezer.

Hello,

I have a question regarding the FLAC logo : will it be available soon on the Desktop App/browser ?

Many thanks.

Also crossposted on Reddit.

See also this press release from Deezer.

On Android when casting from mobile to Google Cast device will I get HIFI quality?

Probably you cannot take another special HiFi offer, as you already had one. But I am only guessing, and I would also guess that it’s the same with every other streaming site including Amazon Music.

By the way, I only knew the 3 months for free trial and afterwards $14,99 offer for “360 by Deezer” yet, but only if you buy new Sony headphones as well. So I’m not sure if that offer for new Deezer HiFi subscribers mentioned in the press release is for real or not.

I don’t see any hifi stickers only HQ. This is on the app on my IPhone. Why is that?

Does Airply support FLAC files? And chromecast?

Well I subscribed to hi-fi for a year based on the announcement that flac quality would be available now on mobile streaming and as downloads.

Indeed the settings allow me to select this and I see the hifi indicator on tracks on my phone whether streaming or my downloaded tracks. I must assume it is also working over Chromecast since it says hifi on my phone while playing via Chromecast - but I haven't tested this properly to be sure.

But my

confirmation email from Deezer today states the following "You can also stream and download tracks in 320 kbps quality to listen on your mobile". That's not hifi. The confirmation email from Sonos said the same.

So, has marketing not caught up with the huge new and much requested feature you announced here (not seen it mentioned in any promotional material, oddly). Or maybe the technical department have got ahead of themselves?

Not necessarily the case 😉 Try the Sonos offer for hifi. If you have had the offer before try anyway. You won't  get the 30 days free part of the offer again, but once a pop up confirms this you are given the option of paying €14.99 per month (max 12 months) or €119.88 for a yearly subscription. That's even if you have used this before. Yes this is for hifi. And yes it works.

Hopefully soon enough Deezer will match the pricing of Amazon HD, which will also offer a yearly subscription for €150.

Hi there @Deon Snr

Thanks for your support and feedback. Airplay currently isn't supporting FLAC - there's a loss in quality when streaming - but we're working on this. For Chromecast, only with our new integration which is also being worked on and it should be released soon!

On your iPhone, go to settings/audio settings/custom - then set the streaming and downloading in FLAC. You'll also need our most up-to-date app in order to get that.

Hey @evel79

In which device are you trying to download FLAC? You're supposed to be able to do so when changing the audio settings of the app - same way I described to Deon above.

Rudi

why is it that the app on my iPhone shows the songs as HQ and not Hifi?

Thank you for the update! Is there an estimated release date for this new Chromecast integration?

Can’t wait to try it :)

As I said it seems to be working fine. Not sure why existing downloads (pre the cross device announcement and while I was on normal premium) were showing flac also - as that can’t be correct. I deleted and re-downloaded just to be sure. Bug? Mislabelling?

But it is deezer that sent me an email confirming they would be available in 320 kb/s (i.e. not flac). Sonos then sent the same message (I signed up via the Sonos deal).

 Hi @Rudi

How about a Deezer Hifi Family signature option? At least 2-3 profiles…

Hey @Luis Fernando Marques ! Our developers are working on this option, so hopefully it’ll be available soon :) In the meantime please make sure you  you follow this thread for further updates ;)

I am finally aboard as late bird.

All I can say from Hifi Flac 1411 kbps there is no going back to casual 320K. It’s weird, but the superior quality I once called it, is no more that good. Actually I was thinking listening on Bluetooth on my laptop using same pair of WH-1000XM3 they were faulty until I selected wired mode… today.

The sound on Bluetooth is equivalent to wired 320K. Slightly better over Bluetooth on FLAC due to less compress. For best opinion go look Hifi magazines, but this one. The wired experience on the same laptop I have is outstanding. It feels like everything has more to life in the sound.

It’s like 720P HD and 1080P FHD. Yes, you can enjoy 720P, but the 1080P is more detailed. Same with blurry windows sight when you finally clean it with water. The only thing now, is if the WH-1000XM3 is not the best for flac? But for now I enjoy them as this is the pair wired to home and…

still I can have Bluetooth freedom on the go with LDAC profile.

I am glad in hifi train, with no return to Premium services. I say it again. It’s better to recommend people for FLAC as you can always downgrade, but with 320K you can not upgrade that easily ;)
